General Studies Modules (GSMs) in NYP

Year 3 Students

GSM REGISTRATION FOR YEAR 3 STUDENTS

GSM registration for Year 3 students are only for DBM/DMK/DAF/DSWM/DHTM/DBF/DFMA students taking academic modules in AY 2018/19 S2 and Year 3 DMMM TEP students.

Students will have to register their GSMs online via myNYP portal (click here to link to myNYP portal)

Year 3 students

(A) NS-liable male studentsNS-liable male students will sit for a pre-test in Sept 2018 (Jason Woon will coordinate with PEMs separately)

If students fail the pre-test: They will have to take BMX300 - Physical Fitness & Training GSM + 1 other GSM of their choice

If students pass the pre-test: They will select 2 GSMs of their choice(Students who pass the pre-test will be entitled to receive an Adidas gym bag FREE!)

(B) Non NS-liable studentsSelect 2 GSMs

NUMBER OF GSMs TO REGISTERYear 3 students fall under 2 categories:

(A) NS-liable male students(B) Non NS-liable students

Registration Dates

The GSM selection period is from:4 Oct 2018 (Thurs), 9am – 5 Oct 2018 (Fri), 5pm, which is before the commencement of the new academic year. Details will be made available on the portal soon.

• Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis as long as the vacancy is available. Students who fail to register for GSMs during the designated period, will be assigned GSMs with available vacancies. Appeal for any change of GSMs will not be considered.

• Computer Lab B503 will be open for students who would like to use the school’s computers to register GSMs.

SelecttheGSMandthepreferredmodulegroupthatyouwouldliketotakefromthe drop-downmenuandclickthe“Add”buttontoconfirm.Modulewithnovacancywillnotbeavailableforselection.Listofmodulesthatdonothaveavailablevacanciesisshownonthebottomlefthand cornerofthescreen.

The modulegroupwhichyouhaveselectedwillalsoappearas one of themodulesregistered.Checkthatthemoduletypeis shownas “CE”(Complementary Elective)

To change a GSM, click on the Drop button for the GSM which you would like to removeandre-select. IfthereisnochangeinGSMbutyouwouldliketochangethe Module Group, click onthe drop down button under Module Group and re-select yourpreferredModuleGroup.Clickon“AcceptModuleGroupChanges”buttonafterthechangeismade.
