General requirements for male and female uniforms

All specifications, requirements and patterns are owned by Region Midtjylland. Region Midtjyllands hospital uniforms must fulfil the general requirements and the specifications in the technical documentation for each style. All the uniforms must follow the standard sizes according to the measurment chart and be manufactured according to the technical instructions, technical drawings and patterns. All trimming must fulfil the specified requirements in Trimming specifications, chapter 3. The fabric requirements for the each individual style is included in style documentation. The following general instructions must be applied to all styles listed in the top reference.

2.0 Material and product specifications All materials must resist industrial washing at 92°C, 25 bar water pressure, industrial steam pressure and tumbledry. No chemical acids known to cause allergy-substance or similar nuisance are allowed in the garments. All uniforms must fulfil the requirements for the Oeko-Tex Standard 100: 2010 or the EU Ecolabel. Documention for the following values are requested:

Free formaldehyde according to Japanese law no 112 dated October 12th 1973. Extractable heavy metals tested with AAS (Atom Absorption Spektrometri) analysis of heavy metals including Nickel (Ni) in artificial persperation extract (ISO 105 E-04: 1994 (The method is comparable with Øko-Tex Standard 200, section 3 and 3.1) PH-value according to ISO 3071.

2.2 The textile fabrics have to meet the REACH directives

2.3 Colour specifications The white dye of the fabric must at all times comply with the chosen standard white from Region Midtjylland. All coloured fabrics must comply with the specifications of each individual fabric requirements in style documentation. A relection spectrophotometer will be used to measure colour variations in order to control the requested colour specification. Colour difference between standard lab-dip and the delivered colour sample will be calculated according to CIE lab-system using the formel CMC 2:1 to define the dE colour differences. The test will be carried out using different types of light sources, as the light can effect visual impression.

3.0 Trimming The term Trimming defines all additional items attached to the garment. All metal trimming must comply to the requirements of European nickel restriction (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) Annex XVII and Oeko-tex Std 100, Class I. The standards for the required trimming is listed below. For detailed specifications follow individual style documentation: trimming requirements.

3.1 Sewing thread Thread must be supplied from a in Denmark generally accepted trademark. Fiber content: 100% polyester or core spun polyester/cotton Yarn Construction: 100 + 120 Colour: Tone in tone for both asempling and decorative stitches. Quality: The thread must not change the dimensioning and surface appearance after min 100 times industrial washing cycles with drying presses. Colour fastness and stability must equal fabric specifications.

3.2 Push-button Push-buttons must be supplied from a in Denmark generally accepted trademark. Construction: Metal shell with plastic core Material: Stainless steel with flexible plastic core Colour: Stainless steel Quality: Push-buttons must be resistant against 25 bar press pressure. No nickel and corrosion is accepted. Push-buttons must keep the opening force intact throughout the duration of the garment (min 100 times wash cycles).

4.0 Sizerange All garments must be manufactured in all standard sizes: female 2XS-6XL and male 2XS-6XL in the requested length differences. All garments must fulfil the requirements in the individual style documentation and measurement chart. Size variations must be within the specified tolerances.

5.0 Labelling All garments must be individually labelled with ownership identity, size and care specification according to chapter 6.4. In left sideseam 15 cm from hemline and 15 cm from waist line a label informing: production month and year must be attached in the seam. The label must be readable throughout the duration of the garment. (min 100 times wash cycles).

6.2 Cutting All pattern parts must be placed and cut according to the specified grainline. Tolerance for cutting the pattern parts +/- 1 mm. Supplier is obliged to use the patterns submitted by Region Midtjylland. No alterations are permitted without a written agreement from Region Midtjylland.

6.4 Care labels All garments must be labelled with correct care symbol instructions according to fabric specifications.

6.3 Sewing Supplier is obliged to manufacture according to the individual style descriptions submitted by Region Midtjylland. No alterations are permitted without a written agreement from Region Midtjylland. The following is not accepted: No tacks/corrections are allowed on decorative top stitches. Broken stitches and open seams. Holes made by needles or other damages. Uneven stitches must not exceed the tolerances. Incorrect thread tension. Seam- ends longer than 0.2 cm. Overlock and safety seams must not exceed the tolerances. Seam assemling must not exceed the tolerance +/- 1 mm.

9.1 Copyright These required specifications are elaborated by Region Midtjylland and are not allowed to be applicated by anyone else. When the agreement expire all the specifications, drawings and patterns must be returned to Region Midtjylland.

8.0 Packing All garments must be packed in bundles of xxx pieces and placed in xxxx boxes. Boxes must be placed in push-carts. Push carts must be clearly marked with: name and adress of customer.
