This $391 million design and renovation of an historic 680-acre campus included 2.3 million SF of office space to accommodate over 8,000 employees consolidating from 14 locations, as well as utilities and infrastructure upgrades. This became the premier design and engineering center for the transportation industry, with employee amenities including retail outlets, a cafetorium, a dining center, and a conference center. A 5,700 space parking structure was also constructed. Meanwhile, the historic legacy of the Eero Saarinen campus was retained. This modern workplace design enhances creativity and productivity. KMD was responsible for the programming, planning, and design of this project.
