BIC Still the Leader in LightersC-stores are a destination for pocket lighters, and BIC stands above the rest as the market leader in this sub-category. Customers say they trust BIC to be safe and long-lasting. However, it’s not just pocket lighters customers are looking for – utility lighters are a growing segment as well! Two top SKUs in the segment are the Scripto Aim ‘N Flame and the Scripto Folding Lighter. Both are great for indoor and outdoor use.

Sunglasses: A Natural Fit for ConveniencePurchases for non-prescription sunglasses are typically by impulse or to solve an immediate need, such as a beach trip or long drive. This impulse nature makes them the perfect fit for your c-store.

Eby-Brown offers a full assortment of styles and price points from Foster Grant. There are a variety of displays to choose from to fit your needs.

Make Work Gloves WORK for You!Although the mild winter may have slowed seasonal sales of work gloves, overall this segment experienced a 4.4% gain. One reason is that consum-ers are moving away from the low-endproducts, and are buying higher qual-ity, usage-specific styles. In fact, the average retail price last year for a pair of work gloves was $3.83.

Eby-Brown offers a two-brand strate-gy for work gloves: Boss as a trusted value brand and CAT, a premium line known as one of the world’s leading heavy equipment brands. This strategysatisfies both the value and the name brand shopper.

EVERYONE Has a Smart DeviceThis statement might be a little bit of stretch, but not much! 92% of U.S. adults own a smart phone, and 45% own a tablet device. The Telecommuni-cations Hardware sub-category is 2nd only to smoking accessories in average store sales of GM merchandise…and the growth isn’t expected to slow any time soon. In fact, as you move down the age bracket continuum, you can see that the number of adults who own a cell phone increases to nearly 100% for the youngest customer group.
