Her roses are so stunning at the moment she had her best chance yet to win the competition. Now we will never know who really grows the best roses. The Garden Club has now finalised arrangements to have the garden at Jindelara Respite Care Cottage maintained for the next 12 months. The contractor will be paid through funds raised at the Soup and Slice day and the Bunnings barbecues. Our Club will also be making a presentation to a Year 10 student in the next month or so to encourage and assist him in furthering his high school studies in agriculture. The student was recommended by the head of the Agriculture area and we hope to be presenting him with his award at the school’s presentation night. The award is from the Student Fund remaining from the student program held as part of the GCA convention held one year ago. Our Garden Club’s tour to Leura was a huge success and everyone who went along had a wonderful time. The gardens, the accommodation, the travel arrangements and the food were highly praised and commended by all. Many thanks to Debbie Kendall for the huge amount of work she did to ensure all went smoothly. Thanks also to Mark Kendall, Deb’s hard working partner in her garden tourism ventures. The propagation group has had their inaugural gathering and are nurturing the first cuttings. The second meeting to learn more about new plants from old, will be in a couple of weeks. As you know in August, the committee proposed a number of changes to the Garden Club’s constitution. These changes aim to make the Constitution a bit more flexible so we can manage the Association more efficiently given the large number of members. If you have not seen the document detailing the proposed changes it is available on the welcome table and posted on the Welcome page of our website. If you have any comments, please discuss them with a committee member or preferably send us an email. Details are in the October newsletter or on the website. We will vote on the changes at the AGM next February. Max Atkins was a prize winner at the Jamberoo rose show. 7 Presentation of badges to New Members Sue McMahon Gillian Evans, Meg Hammond and Heather Haley

Gillian is sorry she is missing this meeting.
