The position: These positions encompass all aspects of the final assembly process from receipt of semi-finished product through sub assembly installation, final inspection and delivery to the packaging / shipping dept.
Required Skills & Responsibilities:
Working in the assembly department, complete the build of metal fabricated enclosures and the installation of subassembly components.
Manage the picking and staging of production components required in your assigned work orders.
Movement of material to and from work cell.
Use of standard hand tools, crimps, screwdrivers, sockets, power drills, measuring equipment and material handling equipment.
Read and interpret work orders, routing documentation, Bills of Material (BOM) and assembly drawings and instructions.

Position Title: Assembly Associate
Reports To: Assembly Coordinator
Department: Assembly
Position Summary:
Assemble product following operation standards and customer specifications. Pack product into prescribed packaging as per instructions. Tact time (cycle time) must be met to ensure daily customer requirements are completed. Overtime will be required if tact time is not met. Associates are 100% responsible for assembly and labelling of the product being made.
Essential Functions:
Assemble product following operation standards and customer requirements.
Must be able to meet and maintain posted rates (tact time).
Overtime will be required within ESA limits if daily customer requirements are not met.
Pack correct number of parts in bin or prescribed packaging.
Must be able to stand for full shift.
Must be able to lift up to 35lbs with no restrictions.
Place correct identification label on bin or carton and stack on skid according to customer requirements.
Place correct identification label on red scrap bin and take to regrind area during shift and at the end of run and shift.
Set aside parts that do not meet specification and check with Team Leader for acceptable level.
Responsible for 5S during and at the end of the shift. All items at the workstation not required by the next shift are returned to their proper place and work area is clean and neat (i.e. Packaging, components, skids etc.).
Notify Offline Coordinator or Team Leader of any quality or scrap issues immediately.
Notify fork lift driver of upcoming colour changes.
Responsible for workstation setup during colour or product changes (i.e.) secondary equipment, sample boards, issuing & removing components & packaging change as well as 5S at this time.
Ensure that safety, plant standards and other guidelines outlined in the KCC Associate Handbook are followed (i.e. Start and stop times, return after breaks, conduct towards others, misuse of washroom breaks etc.).
May participate in team problem solving and preventive/corrective action as required, specifically 5Ps and WHY WHY’s.
Report any equipment malfunction and/or quality problems to offline Coordinator or Team Leader.
Perform various other duties as required by Production Coordinator or any Manager.
Operator is to sort their product if any defects are found.

About the Position:
About the Position: The Facilities Maintenance Helper position involves a mixture of routine
duties and project work as assigned and scheduled by the Maintenance Lead Hand. This includes
taking garbage / recycling, and damaged wooden pallets to scrap bins, general plant custodial
duties (cleaning railings, machines, windows, etc.), performing various daily checks, snow
removal, lawn / yard maintenance. Project work may include building, fabricating, painting,
repairing, running errands, and assisting peers with general handyman work as required. This
position requires the following proficiencies:
Remove garbage / recycling, and damaged wooden pallets from production and
warehouse work areas using carts and/or forklift to dispose in scrap bins. This requires
some lifting and endurance, working indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
General custodial services using various cleaning supplies and equipment, including
operation of ride-on floor cleaner (Zamboni), and scissor lift as certified in production
and warehouse as scheduled.
Snow removal and grounds maintenance as required, using municipal vehicle &
sweeping / snow removal attachments, snow blower, shovel, de-icing, lawn mower, leaf
blower, etc..
Assist Maintenance Lead Hand and/or peers with various project work, general
construction, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs as required.
Backfill for custodian during vacation or absence, or as required.
Implement and maintain 5S housekeeping principles at all times.
Cross-train in other departments as available.
All tools and equipment are company supplied, including PPE and subsidy for boots.
About You:
The successful candidate(s) must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized and
detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, energetic, and must have a positive attitude, along
with the following qualifications:
Previous experience working safely in a manufacturing environment equipment in a
maintenance, mechanical, or custodial capacity.

storage, to and from stock or to shipping, as applicable.
Ensure all parts processed by our manufacturing processes are properly
identified by part number of work order number.
Ensure that on completion of our production processes each work order, for parts
that are not being delivered to shipping / receiving, is properly closed out.
Monitor parts and assemblies throughout our production processes.
Ensure recorded date, required to verify that parts or components conform to the
specified requirements, is filed and maintained, as required or delivered to
receiving with the parts of components as applicable.
Process ECN’s and review system requirements to ensure previous drawings are
removed and replaced with current revisions.
Perform and record cycle counts.
Containment and disposition of identified non-conforming purchased parts.
Promote and participate in Continuous Improvement, such as Lean
Manufacturing and 5S principles and objectives etc., in conjunction with Materials
Manager and Materials Team Leader.
Cross functional training within the department.
Attend various training courses or programs is required.
Assist other departments as directed by the Materials Manager or Materials
Team Leader.
Other duties as required.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Assembly, the Assembly Technician 1 will work in
collaboration with the Assembly team to meet the production requirements on a day to
day basis. The Assembly Technician will assemble and adjust sub-assemblies and
complete optical systems that may be comprised of several sub-assemblies, cement
and paint lenses, prisms and reticles and perform final checking for deficiencies
according to the ISO 9001 standards of quality. Training will be provided to the
candidate filling the minimum requirements.
This temporary contract duration is for approximately 6 months.
We are looking for the following Education and Technical Requirements:
• Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be skilled in the use of the metric system.
• Ability to follow work flow operations instructions and work shiftwork, overtime and on
short notice.
• Experience in handling or assembling small parts with exceptional finger dexterity.

A Plant Laborer works in a manufacturing facility and performs general labor tasks within and around the plant.
Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safety
Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures by using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task, while maintaining an orderly and clean work area.

Performs specific tasks as assigned by production supervisors which may include:
Lift, carry, and hold materials, tools, and supplies Loads and unloads materials onto or from trucks, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, fork
lift, hand truck and/or electric pallet jack, as appropriate. Loads materials and pallets into vehicles to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Conveys materials from storage sites to designated loading area. Works on production line to make anodes using anode mixing equipment and moulds. 55 pound bags.
Paperwork
Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Counts and records number of units of materials moved or handled, breakage and spoilage on
appropriate sheets. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases and other
containers. Counts, packs and inspects finished product for correct label, cleanliness, and integrity. Monitors, completes, and maintains efficient and accurate paperwork as needed.
