    RECRUITMENT OF CLERKS & PROBATIONARY OFFICERS - 2010

    Federal Bank, a leading Private Sector Bank is hiring talented and aspiringindividuals for the post of (1) Clerks & (2) Probationary Officers.

    Eligible candidates are advised to apply onlinebetween 30.09.2010 to 20.10.2010(both days inclusive) only through the Banks website www.federalbank.co.in aftercarefully going through the instructions contained in this advertisement. No othermeans/ mode of application will be accepted.

    Candidates are advised to download call letters for appearing in the written testfrom the website from 22.11.2010 onwards by entering their registration numberand password which will be generated at the time of applying online.

    2. Scale of pay and other emoluments

    Candidates selected for Clerical cadre posts will be offered pay scale of ` 7200

    400/3 8400 500/3 9900 600/4 12300 700/7 17200 1300/1 18500 800 /1 19300.

    Candidates selected for Probationary Officer (Scale I) cadre posts will be offered payscale of ` 14500 600 /7 18700 700 /2 20100 800/7 25700.

    DA, HRA, CCA will be paid as per rules of the Bank in force from time to timedepending upon the place of posting. Medical Aid, Hospitalisation Scheme, Leavefare concession, retirement benefits and other perquisites will be admissible as perBanks rules. On a cost-to-company basis, the monthly pay package for Clerks andProbationary Officers including all the allowances and perquisites will be

    equivalent. Graduation in Agriculture/ Engineering means those who havepassed a 10+2+4 year course. Graduation in Law means those who havepassed 10+2+5 year course in law or degree in any subject + 3 year course inLaw.

    The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be based on thepractice followed by the University / Institution from where the candidate hasobtained the degree. In case of the candidates being awarded grades /

    CGPA instead of marks, equivalence would be based on the equivalencecertified by the University / Institution from where they have obtained thedegree. In case the University / Institution does not have any scheme forconverting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would beestablished by the Bank by dividing obtained CGPA with the maximumpossible CGPA and multiplying the resultant with 100.

    Year wise / semester wise mark sheet for each year / semester in respect ofthe qualifying examination from the concerned University should be available.Since the reverse side of the mark sheet contains the instructions,photocopies of both sides of the mark sheets is necessary.

    Working knowledge of computers is essential for both the posts.

    4. How to apply

    Eligible candidates have to apply online through the Banks website only. Noother means/ mode of application are acceptable. The application format should

    be filled in English only. Before registering their applications on the website,candidates should note / possess the following:

    (i) An e-mail id which shall be valid for the duration of the recruitmentprocess. In case the candidate does not have a valid e-mail id, he/ shehas to create a new email id before applying online.

    (ii) Application fee can be remitted at any branch of Federal Bank. For thispurpose, candidates have to visit the Banks websitewww.federalbank.co.in and follow the link careers and download the

    payment challan for remitting the application fee.

    (iii) Application Fees can be remitted through other Banks also (throughNEFT). The details of the account to which fee to be remitted is asfollows:

    (iv) If a candidate is eligible and desires to apply for more than one post, he /she should apply separately for each post. Application fee should also beremitted separately.

    (v) The payment towards recruitment application fees can be made from28.09.2010 onwards, but before the close of business hours on20.10.2010. ie, close of online registration gateway. Even if the Bankextends the last date of registration of online applications due to technicalreasons, the valid dates during which the payment should be made asindicated above will not be changed.

    (vi) After remitting the application fee, logon to our Banks websitewww.federalbank.co.in and follow the link careers. Then clickRecruitment of Clerks and Probationary Officers 2010. Then clickapply online. Then online application will open. Fill up all the detailsrequired in the application and click Submit available at the bottom ofthe online application and your online application will be registered. ARegistration Number and Password will appear for your online

    registration immediately on the screen. Candidates are required to takeprintout of the online application using the above registrationnumber and password. Candidates shall retain the printout of theonline application with them.

    (vii) Candidates are required to bring to the examination centre at the time ofwritten examination, the call letter, which can be downloaded by thecandidate using the registration number and password obtained at thetime of registration of online application. Candidates should possesscopies of recent passport size colour photograph for pasting on thesystem generated call letter.

    (viii) Valid proof of identity such as PAN card/Passport/ Voter I D Card/ DrivingLicense/ Permanent Identity card issued by the present employer or any

    other valid proof of identification with a photograph should be produced atthe time of written exam and interview to be conducted by the Bank.

    (ix) Candidates should submit the copy of the Payment Challan / counterfoil ofapplication fee along with the call letter at the time of written examination,failing which the candidate will not be admitted for the written examination.

    5. Selection Procedure:

    6. Venues for the Written Test

    The Bank will conduct the written test at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam,Kozhikode, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai & New Delhi.

    General Instructions

    1] Before filling the online application form, the candidate must ensure that he/ shefulfills all the eligibility criteria with respect to age, educational qualifications etc. inrespect of the post for which he / she is making the application and that theparticulars furnished in the application form are correct in all respects. In case it isdetected at any stage that a candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility criteria,and / or that he / she has furnished any incorrect information or has suppressed anymaterial fact(s), his / her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of theseshortcomings is/are detected even after the appointment, his/her services are liableto be terminated.

    2] Admission to written examination will be purely provisional without verification ofage/ qualification / experience / category /SC/ST/OBC), etc of the candidates withreference to documents. Decision of the Bank in all matters regarding eligibility ofthe candidate, the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, thedocuments to be produced for the purpose of conduct of written test, interview,selection etc. and any other matter relating to recruitment will be final and binding onthe candidates. No correspondence or personal enquiries shall be entertained bythe Bank in this regard.

    3] The Bank reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility standard, etc., in order torestrict the number of candidates to be called for written test and interviewcommensurate with the number of vacancies.

    4] Eligible candidates have to appear for a written test and interview at their ownexpense at the venue and date notified by the Bank.

    5] An application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the applicationfee once paid will NOT BE refunded on any account nor would be held in reserve forany future examination or selection. The application fee shall also NOT BErefunded in case the application is rejected / not considered by Federal Bank.

    6] Candidates are required to apply only online through the link provided on theBanks website which will lead them to the online application form. The systemgenerated printout of the application should be retained by the candidate. Candidateneed not send the printout of the application form to the Bank. It will be required tosend to a specified address only if the candidate qualifies in the written examination.

    7] Candidates are advised to keep their application fee details, particulars ofeducational qualifications and other personal details ready before applying as thesedetails are required to fill in the online application form. After filling the form,candidates are required to click SUBMIT available at the bottom of the onlineapplication form. If the application is accepted, the system will generate a

    registration number and a password.

    8] Candidates are advised to download call letters for appearing in the written test fromthe website from 22.11.2010 onwards by entering their registration number and

    password which will be generated at the time of applying online.A recent passportsize colour photograph (without dark glasses) should be firmly pasted on the callletter at the prescribed place and should be signed across by the candidate.Sufficient copies of the same photograph should be retained for use at the time ofwritten examination / interview. Candidates are advised not to change theirappearance till the entire recruitment process is over. Failure to produce the samephotograph at the time of written examination / interview may lead to disqualification.

    9) Candidates have to produce all the requisite certificates / documents in original withXerox copies for verification at the time of interview along with a copy of the systemgenerated print out of the application. Failure to do so shall lead to disqualificationof the candidate.

    10] In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST category, copy of self attested caste /tribe certificate along with the original must be brought at the time of interview alongwith a copy of the system generated print out of the application. The certificateshould have been issued in the prescribed format and by Authorities empowered toissue such certificate.

    11] Candidates selected are liable to be posted anywhere in India or abroad as per theadministrative requirements & discretion of the Bank.

    12] Any request for change of address / change of centre for written test/ interview shallnot be entertained.

    13] The Bank reserves the right to cancel any of the centres and / or add some othercentres depending upon the response, administrative feasibility etc. The Bank alsoreserves the right to allot the candidate to any of the centres other than the one he /she has opted for.

    14] The Bank has the right to reject any application/ candidature at any stage withoutassigning any reason and the decision of the Bank shall be final.

    15] Appointments of selected candidates will be subject to his / her being declaredmedically fit by the Banks Medical Officer, satisfactory report about his / hercharacter and antecedents by the Police Authorities, verification of caste / tribecertificate (for reserved category candidates only) and completion of all other prerecruitment formalities to the complete satisfaction of the Bank. Further, suchappointment shall also be subject to Service and Conduct Rules of the Bank.

    16] The Bank takes no responsibility for any delay in submission of online applicationsor communication. Candidates in their own interest are advised to submit on lineapplications well before the last date.

    17] Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
