    General Instructions for Candidates

    A candidate applying for ANY of the said posts must have qualified in Punjabi languageof Matric Standard or its equivalent from any recognized Institution/Board or shouldhave passed the Punjabi language proficiency test held by Department of Languages,Government of Punjab.

    AGE

    Candidate should be between 18 to 37 years of age as on 01.04.2011 subject to thefollowing relaxations:

    (i) In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Backward Caste categorythe upper age limit will be relaxable to the extent of 5 years.

    (ii) In case of candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped category the upperage limit will be relaxable to the extent of 10 years.

    (iii) In case of candidates belonging to Ex-Servicemen category, the upper age limitshall be allowed to deduct the period of his service in the Armed Forces of GOIfrom his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum agelimit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy according to

    government instructions, by more than three years he shall be deemed tosatisfied the conditions regarding age limit.

    (iv) In case of candidates who are already in Government Service, the eligibility agewill be relaxable up to 45 years of age as on 01.04.2011.

    (v) The applicant will ensure that he/she rightly ticks the category for whichapplication has been made. No further change in category would be allowed atany stage.

    Application Fee

    (i) Interested candidates who wish to apply for the said post (s) must apply online in

    the prescribed procedure available on our website www.puda.gov.in along withan Application Fee as detailed below:

    (a) Fee for General Category candidates : Rs. 700/-(b) Fee for SC/BC Category candidates : Rs. 350/-(c) Fee for Ex Servicemen Category candidates : NIL

    (ii) The requisite application fee should be in the shape of crossed Bank Draft/PayOrder/Banker Cheque in favor of Punjab Urban Planning & DevelopmentAuthority, SAS Nagar payable at Chandigarh / SAS Nagar. The Candidatesshould write his/her name and address on the reverse of the Bank Draft / PayOrder / Bankers Cheque.

    APPLICATION BY GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEESAll existing Government employees should apply online. While submitting the hard copyof the online application form with the relevant certificates, all existing Governmentemployees must attach a No Objection Certificate issued by the competent authorityfrom their concerned department. In case, any existing Government employee does notattach the NOC from his/ her Department, no age relaxation will be given to him / her,as prescribed for application by existing Government employees.

    RESERVATION

    (i) Reservation to the posts shall be given as per the provisions of the PunjabSchedule Cast and Backward Classes (Reservation in Services) Act, 2006 andother policy instructions issued by the State of Punjab from time to timeapplicable to other categories.

    (ii) All applicants who are seeking selection under any category of reservation must

    specify the category in the online application. While forwarding the hard copy ofthe printout of the online application, self attested copies of the requisitecertificates on the basis of which reservation to any post is claimed issued by thecompetent authority as prescribed by the Government of Punjab, must beattached. In case such applications are not accompanied with the requisitedocuments, the same shall be liable to be rejected without any further intimationto the candidate.

    (iii) In case of candidates seeking reservation under Sportsperson category, theapplication should be accompanied with sports gradation certificate issued byDirector Sports, Punjab in accordance with the latest instructions issued by theGovernment in this regard. Applications not accompanied with the relevant

    certificates shall be rejected.(iv) Criteria for selection of candidates from Sportsman Category shall be on the

    basis of Sports Gradation Certificate which is as under:-

    (i) that he belongs to the State of Punjab: and(ii) that he has won national championship in team or

    individual events while representing the State ofPunjab in such sports events as have beenconducted by such respective national

    federations as are affiliated to the Indian OlympicAssociation;

    OR(i) that he has won national championship in team or

    individual events which are organized in IndianOlympic Association;

    OR(ii) that he has won first, second or third position in

    team or individual events and/or he has won Goldor Silver or Bronze Medals, at Internationalaffiliated to the International Olympic Committeeor by the International Olympic Committee itself.

    Senior Assistant (A/Cs)

    Assistant Public Relation Officer

    Draftsman

    Group CClerk (i) that he belongs to the State of Punjab: and

    (ii) that he has won first, second or third position inteam or individual events while representing theState of Punjab in a State Level Championship inany of the disciplines affiliated to the PunjabOlympic Association organized by the State LevelFederation. In case of non Olympic disciplinessuch as Cricket and Tennis, a winner should have

    attained any of the first three positions in a StateLevel Championship organized by the concernedState Level Association affiliated by theconcerned National Federation.
