Celebrations & Traditions*The Sinterklaas parade.*The Sinterklaas parade takes place on Dec. 6th.*Sinterklaas and Pete pass out treats to all the kids.

Important Characters*In Holland Santa Clause is Sinterklaas & Pete is an elf.*They pass out treats to children.

Gifts*The children trade in vegetables to St. Nick to get candy.*Mainly children under the age of 18 receive gifts.

Decorations*They mainly display tasty food in their windows.

Extra info*In a modern day tradition some brave and hearty souls plunge into the north sea on New Years day.

Food*They make a delightful sweet called oliebollen which is an apple raisin doughnut.
