Automotive Consulting Solutions (ACS)
can be characterized by

Development project solutions of SAP Automotive Consulting that cannot be
found in any SAP Core/Automotive/Best Practices release

4. Customer references
There are no reference customers/customer contact persons/customer addresses
available for the ACS. There is no possibility to visit other customers who use the
ACS. A few customer success stories are provided, they can be found at
www.sap.com.acs.
The ACS are primarily single functionalities. For some or the ACS we receive over
150 inquiries per year. No ACS customer was so far willing to be available as a
contact person for this number of inquiries. To build and maintain reference
customers would mean a certain effort for SAP and the cost to do this would
increase the price tag of the ACS. This is not the objective of the price model.

5. Test installation
Test installations are not possible for any ACS. There are no ‘mock-up’ versions of
any ACS.
SAP would have to invest the same time and effort to implement a test installation
as for a real installation of an ACS. Additional effort would be needed for the
removal of the test installation.
To become acquainted with the ACS we advice you to book a workshop e.g.
including a demo on a SAP demo-/development system. These workshops are
presented by qualified SAP consultants.

6. Functionality test
No test of an ACS is possible on a SAP demo-/development system.
For security reasons dial-in to those systems is not allowed. Without a preceding
briefing a functional test of an ACS is not possible.
To become acquainted with the ACS we advice you to book a workshop e.g.
including a demo on a SAP demo-/development system. These workshops are
presented by qualified SAP consultants.

7. Chargeable workshop
To become acquainted with the ACS we advice you to book a workshop e.g.
including a demo on a SAP demo-/development system by qualified SAP
consultants. These workshops are chargeable as they are overseen by SAP
consulting. A workshop cost deduction of a later ACS purchase is not possible.
On the one hand we don’t want to add the cost of the pre-sales/demo efforts to the
fixed price for the ACS. On the other hand we place great emphasis on the qualified
demonstration of the detailed ACS functions by a consultant.

8. Pricing model
One globally valid price model (worldwide for all countries, industries and
customer segments (irrespective of customer size))
Each SAP ACS has a globally valid fixed price (incl. the same scope of service)
in Euro currency. For billing abroad, currencies can be translated at the current
exchange rate. This fixed price includes the installation of one development
system, one test system and one productive system
Contractually consulting services are offered. No software will be sold. No
software license fees (user licenses) and maintenance fees are therefore
incurred. Automotive Consulting Solutions are not included in the standard SAP
software price list.
The customer pays part of the total cost of the ACS
Fixed price guarantee valid until the end of the calendar year Dec. 31st (SAP
option for price adjustment, for example, due to new ACS version with more
functions). Existing ACS customers benefit from investment protection in the
form of special ACS upgrade prices if a new ACS is introduced in the market

9. Fixed price deliverables
The following services are included in the fixed price deliverables:
Technical implementation – preferably 100% remote
Compilation of test data (depending on the solution)
Technical documentation
Application documentation
Customizing documentation (depending on the solution)
Functional briefing and hand over to IT respectively key users
For the first 6 months after the technical implementation date in the
development system corrections are free of charge (support directly by the SAP
ACS team e.g. via OSS remote log in)

10. Optional Services
In addition to the fixed price deliverables we offer the following services:
Consulting workshops to e.g. familiarize users with the functions in detail,
system demos, discussion of technical prerequisites, project planning
(resources and deadlines), FIT/GAP analysis, possible effort estimation for
enhancements, and so on
Advanced user trainings
Go Live Support e.g. with on-call duty (24 hours)
Flexible, and enhanced support models after 6 months

11. Usage in multiple systems
The ACS pricing model refers to one development system, one test system and one
production system (master implementation). Within a system there are generally no
fees e.g. by client, plant, user, etc.
If the ACS will be used in several development, test and productive systems a
rollout project needs to be defined (the reason is e.g. the copy right, follow up
operations (corrections) by SAP, language versions of the solutions, know-how
transfer, possibly different release and support package versions of the rollout
system(s) and the master system, support for release change, upgrade of the ACS
to a newer version etc.). There are special rollout and corporate price models
available.

12. Support model/Follow up
Support is available through the Automotive Consulting Unit in Walldorf (Germany)
Access to the customer systems takes place through the OSS connection
There are several support models for the different ACS:
Example 1: ACS is available in an SAP standard system and was implemented in the SAP name space.
Support through OSS
Example 2: ACS was implemented in the Z name space. Contact the Automotive Consulting (e.g.
delivery service level)
Example 3: no support necessary/possible (e.g. VDS forms)
For the ACS that fall within example 1 and 2 errors are corrected by the SAP Automotive
Consulting free of charge for 6 month after the technical installation date in the
development system. After the 6 months we support you in the context of remote
consulting (chargeable). Please contact your SAP contact person directly in case of
errors/inquiries (please don’t open an OSS message).
You don’t have to sign ‘maintenance contracts’ after 6 months. The consulting activities can
be offered in the context of remote consulting

13. Upgrade/Version
For some of the Automotive Consulting Solutions we offer an extended range of
functions via versions e.g. ACS vendor evaluation version 9.0 and 10.0.
If new versions of ACS come on to the market existing ACS customers enjoy
customer protection/investment protection (special prices to upgrade to the latest
SAP ACS version). In this case corrections are free of charge for 4 weeks after the
technical implementation date in the development system. A possible data migration
is charged at cost.

14. Performance
There is generally no statement possible concerning the performance of an ACS.
The reasons include a different system landscape, deviant data volume on the SAP
development system and the customer production system.

15. Release change
The ACS is implemented on a defined release of the customer system.
In case of a release change or Support Package/Feature Package implementation
in the customer system after the technical implementation, the necessity for support
activities might arise. These services are invoiced to the customer via remote
consulting.
Please notify the SAP ACS Team prior to a release change or Support
Package/Feature Package implementation.

16. Distinction to CDP/RDS
The focus of RDS (Rapid Deployment Solutions) is a fast/easy implementation
of preconfigured packages (e.g. documentation for customizing) based on SAP
Standard functionality. In general no coding is provided, thus no support for
coding is offered
For customer specific developments CDP (Customer Development Project) is
available. The focus of CDP is the development of new/additional functions that
enhance the SAP Standard functionalities. This option is recommended for
elaborate/big development projects. In addition to the development support for
the coding is offered. From the business perspective a software contract is
concluded with CDP
The ACS (Automotive Consulting Solutions) approach is to offer consulting
Know-how as solutions that are quickly deployed and already successfully
implemented. In general an ACS project includes the technical installation of the
solution, the implementation (consulting and customizing), documentation and
support. From a business perspective a consulting/service fixed price contract is
concluded

17. SAP Standard
A number of ACS have been included in the SAP Standard especially in the SAP
ERP Core respectively the SAP ERP Automotive System. There they can be
used cost neutral without additional licenses. Some examples are:
EDI Monitor incoming JIT Call, Tolerance Check incoming Delivery/JIT Delivery Schedule, DON,
Backlog List Material Management, Subcontracting with Chargeable Components, Customer
Specific Processing Delivery/JIT Delivery Schedules, Self-Billing Processing (VSB1N), EDI Monitor
incoming Delivery/JIT Delivery Schedules…
SAP Consulting is responsible for the ACS portfolio. The decision, if and which
ACS is included in the Standard lies with the SAP Standard Development and
not SAP Consulting
Not all ACS will and can be included in the SAP Standard. For example there
are about 200 OEM specific forms which are only available as an ACS
