1. Dangerous Goods are:• Articles or substances which are capable of posing a significant risk to health, safety or property when transported by any mode (Rail,
Road, Air and Ocean) and classified according to the appropriate Dangerous Goods Regulations
2. Dangerous Goods are regulated by all modes of transport:• Rail & Road – Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act & Regulations (TDG)• Air – International Air Transport Association (IATA)• Ocean – International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG)
3. Dangerous Goods strictly regulates how “ANY ”person: • Handles Dangerous Goods• Loading / Unloading / Packing / Unpacking• Receiving / Locating / Storing / Checking /Disposal• Offers and/or Transports Dangerous Goods• Identifies / Documents / Labels Dangerous Goods
4. Specific Training Requirements:• To keep your dealership in compliance with the law and the regulations you must refer to appropriate regulations for the information
related to the mode(s) of transportation being used: – Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act & Regulations (TDG) - Road & Rail – International Air Transport Associations (IATA) - Air – International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) - Ocean
5. Non-compliance can result in:• Serious accidents, injuries and loss of life• Major fines and possible imprisonment under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations for the companies involved
AND individuals• A review of your Dealerships Dangerous Goods shipping practices and possible termination of your List 3 parts return privileges to TCI
