Gene Shaw, 85, of Nederland, died Saturday, March 3, 2018. He was born on January 26, 1933, in Port Arthur, Texas to Lois Mae Biermortt Shaw and Valdie Clinton Shaw.
Gene graduated from Nederland High School and later from Lamar University. He served
in the United States Marine Corps and achieved the rank as Captain. Gene retired from DuPont after thirty-three years of service. He was involved in A.C.T.S. and in the Knights of Columbus. Gene was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Gail Gesser Shaw; children, Mike Shaw and his wife, Glenda, of Vidor; Erik Shaw and his wife, Stacie, of Nederland; and Lori Shaw of Nederland; grandchildren, Michael, Morgan, and Mackenzie Shaw, all of Nederland and Jessica Marcantel and her husband, Justin, of Vidor; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
