There is no significant relationship between gender sensitivity in performing the basic nursing skills and their grades in these skill areas.

III. Extent of effect of factors affecting gender sensitivity along basic nursing skills of BSN

The BSN students involved in this study are much gender sensitive in their performance of the basic nursing skills. Specifically to the following:

a. gender sensitive in giving assurance of strict confidentiality b. privacy with regards to conversation and documentation

For the BSN students involved, gender sensitivity has no bearing to basic skills performance rating.

Specific factors that were identified are the following:

a.application and principles of assessment b.interest of student to learnc.cooperation of patients to the student nurses.

1.It is recommended that there should be a gender and development seminar and workshops regarding gender sensitivity of students along with the basic nursing skills.

RECOMMENDATION

2. Nursing instructors should integrate on the 3rd year and 4th year students the importance of Gender Sensitivity with regards to basic nursing skills during their related learning experience.

RECOMMENDATION

3.As integrated above as one of the recommendations, when BSN students would undergo seminar workshop and training regarding Gender and Development (GAD) student nurses would now know how to manage the patient in order to cooperate.
