Galleon Dinner Cruise in Venice: an emotion to be lived, every Wednesday
Candle light dinner cruise among islands and canals
A brighter heart for a still dynamic Venice
A particular idea in Venice to make your stay even more romantic and original: a stunning dinner cruise on board the Venetian Galleon while sailing among Saint Mark’s basin and
the islands of the lagoon. An intimate candle light dinner, organized every Wednesday, immersed in the warm and
elegant atmosphere of the galleon that slowly sails among the islands and the canals of the lagoon, offering an exclusive seascape that can be admired from a privileged point of view.
A delicate and tasty dinner and unforeseen glimpses of the lagoon and of Venice. On board the galleons you can organize private parties, weddings, business meetings,
incentive and business dinner. During the coldest months the boats are equipped with a covering structure and heating.Information: www.galeoneveneziano.it - [email protected] - tel. +39 0421380006
The amazing picture we got in the core, represents the huge brighter heart made
by a thousand Venetians realized in St. Mark’s Square sept. 20, 2015, during “Being Venice”, last event of the biennial project “Venice Revealed” conceived by the artist Elena Tagliapietra and the writer Alberto Toso Fei to tell – through artistic visions and tales from the past – the contemporary Venice; a living town, that declare daily her vitality, despite everything.

Gondoliers: not only rawing masters
A new look and new uniforms for gondoliers in Venice, sold with the

alive and beautiful.Royalties incomes from the sales –
collection are available from november ‘15 for the gondoliers and for the public exclusively in the Emilio Ceccato stores of Al Duca D’Aosta Group - will be reinvested by the Association in specific projects to safeguard the tradition and the profession of gondolier.

New formula and new message for the seventh edition of the Gran Concerto per l’Immacolata,
the traditional charity event that, on December 8th at 5 pm, in the great setting of the Basilica of Saints John and Paul, opens the period of Christmas celebrations in Venice.
For the first time, the prestigious Cappella Marciana and the creative enthusiasm of voices and instrumentalists of the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello, will draw together a path of sacred polyphony in Venetian music,
proposing harmonies suggested by Marian devotion through the centuries.
During the Gran Concerto, as usual, will be launched the Tents Campaign promoted by AVSI Foundation, this year centered mainly on the plight of refugees. The objective is to support the projects already started by AVSI on three fronts:
1) at the beginning of the trail, where there are still margins to help people stay in their country, South Sudan, Syria, the Iraqi Kurdistan;
2) in the middle, where entire communities
live in refugee camps set up outside the borders of their homeland, as in Lebanon and Jordan;
3) finally, the last stage, when the refugees come into our city and challenge our coexistence.

Thermae Abano Montegrotto are the most famous destination for preventive health
services in Europe and are located in the neighbourhoods of Venice, in the middle of the Euganean Hills Regional Park in the province of Padua. It is the perfect location for a revitalising holiday made of wellness, relax, nature, culture, art, wine and food.
More than 90 local hotels are equipped with wellness centres and advanced thermal spas specialised in mud therapy thanks to the anti-inflammatory properties of the Euganean thermal mud, the only one of its kind protected by a European patent.
Spending a holiday at Thermae Abano Montegrotto means forgetting about the stress of everyday’s life in a peaceful and unique location with 240 thermal swimming pools, where one can relax while bathing in 37°C warm water and using the thermal spa of each hotel.
A little corner of paradise between walled cities and Medieval hamlets, Venetian villas and castles, cloisters and places of worship, Thermae Abano Montegrotto are close to the most important Italian cities of art, like Venice and Verona. They have been the land of thermal baths since Roman times and nowadays it is still considered the ideal place to prevent health issues because of the several outdoor sport activities that can be done in the hills, in the 68 km cycling ring that surrounds them, in the local 3 golf courts and in Y-40, the world deepest swimming pool filled with thermal water.
The Euganean thermal baths also stand out for their wine and food products thanks to the fertile
ground and the mild climate: the most famous are the local chicory and asparagus, honey, olive oil, jujubes, ham and the wine that can be tasted in the cellars of the Euganean Hills Wine Route.
Today, just like over the past 2000 years, at Thermae Abano Montegrotto time is to be lived.

The Tiepolo Virtues at Carmini ConfraternityThe school of devotion and charity dedicated to Our
Lady of Mt. Carmel gained its official recognition from the Council of Ten on 22 September 1597, was built its present headquarters (designed by the architects Caustello and Longhena in the 17th century) beside the church belonging to the Carmelite monks. There the confraternity had its initial headquarters and an altar dedicated to the Virgin. The original antique furnishings inside the halls of the school have been entirely preserved. These consist of important oil paintings, rich stucco ceilings and original embroidered and carved wood.
Giambattista Tiepolo painted nine incomparable ceiling canvases In the Chapter Hall between 1739 and 1749, decorating the angles with a series paintings depicting the cardinal and theological virtues and other attributes of the Spirit. All of these images make reference to the Virgin Mary, with angels and cherubim bearing the scapular (the symbol of the devotion), along with the mariegola, the book containing the rules of the
confraternity. The rooms of the archive and of the hotel are also remarkable, where we find the masterpieces of G.B. Piazzetta (“Judith and Holofernes”) and of Padavonino (“The Assumption of the Virgin Mary”).

A contemporary art comparison among astini, Icaro, Mattiacci, Spagnulo
Luigi Ghirri and Yona Friedman/Jean-Baptiste Decavèle
At Ca’ Pesaro “...but an extension”
Air Landscapes at the Querini Stampalia
The packed exhibitions programme organised by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, offers the opportunity for a fascinating dialectic comparison between
the works of four great exponents of Italian contemporary art: Marco Gastini, Paolo Icaro, Eliseo Mattiacci e Giuseppe Spagnulo.
Despite working in very different styles and means of expression, the artists, bound by long-standing friendships and by profound affinities, create a fresh, intense dialogue at Ca’ Pesaro that involves art and life.
Venue at Ca’ Pesaro - International Gallery of Modern Art, Santa Croce, 2076, Venice, Open to the public From 26th September 2015 to 28th February 2016 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ticket office 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
Closed on monday, tiket Full 10 euro. Concessionary 7,50 euro.Information and booking: capesaro.visitmuve.it - [email protected] center 848082000 (from Italy) / +3904142730892 (from abroad)FB: www.facebook.com/visitmuve - Twitter: twitter.com/visitmuve_en
From November 21st to February 21st, is the first
act of a research programme promoted by Fondo Luigi Ghirri, recently founded at the Querini Stampalia thanks to the passion and the generosity of collectionist Roberto Lombardi.
Curated by Chiara Bertola and Giuliano Sergio in cooperation with Felluga and RAM - Radioartemobile, it focuses on the meeting between photographer Luigi Ghirri and architect Yona Friedman. As the central theme of this programme, Italian landscapes represent the
common space of the two artists who take a personal look at them and go beyond their conventional tourist association with heritage and museums, demonstrating that both photography and architecture can subvert it.
This opens up to the idea of combining Luigi Ghirri’s photographs to a free, air landscape museum located in Livio Felluga’s vineyards according to “Vigne Museum”, from Yona Friedman’s utopian and visionary genius.

The wonders of Scuola Grande San RoccoTintoretto, Tiziano and GiorgioneThe Scuola Grande di San Rocco, protector against plague (which had struck Venice in that century)
was established in 1478 by a group of wealthy Venetian citizens as a Confraternity. Nowadays is one of the most beautiful attractions in Venice together with its precious paintings.
On the 13th of January 1789, the Scuola, in recognition of its care for the divine cult and its distinction in the area of charity work, was honoured by Pope Pius VI (whose visit in 1782 to the Scuola is commemorated by a tablet situated in the Sala Terrena) with the title “Archconfraternity,” with the associated privileges.
The walls of the three big rooms, and particularly the ceiling of the two on the first floor, Sala Capitolare e dell’Albergo, are unique, amazing and breathless. They are completely covered in paintings by Tintoretto, a member of Confraternity o St. Roch, and by Giorgione Titian Tiepolo: an exhibition non to be missed.

The Holy See again participates with an exhibition to be held at the Sale d’Armi, in the spaces that the Biennale has renovated for new permanent pavilions. In the Beginning... the Word became flesh is the title chosen by Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi (President of the Pontifical Council for Culture) for the Pavilion, which is curated by Micol Forti (Director of Contemporary Art Department of the Vatican Museums).

The Biennale in 2016Save the dates for the 2016 exhibitions and events
The 73th Venice International Film Festival, organized by la Biennale di Venezia, will take place on Venice Lido from 31 August to 10 September 2016.
The 15th International Architecture Exhibition will take place from May 28th to November 27th 2016 (Preview May 26th and 27th) in the Giardini and the Arsenale and in various other venues in Venice, titled Reporting From The Front, directed by Alejandro Aravena. Director declared:
More and more people in the planet are in search for a decent place to live and the conditions to achieve it are becoming tougher and tougher by the hour. Any attempt to go beyond business as usual encounters huge resistance in the inertia of reality and any effort to tackle relevant issues has to overcome the increasing complexity of the world.
But unlike military wars where nobody wins and there is a prevailing sense of defeat, on the frontlines of the built environment, there is a sense of vitality because architecture is about looking at reality in a proposal key.
Reporting From The Front will be about bringing to a broader audience, what is it like to improve the quality of life while working on the margins, under tough circumstances, facing pressing challenges. Or what does it take to be on the cutting edge trying to conquer new fields.

Peggy Guggenheim, the indian art of V.S. Gaitonde
Through January 10, 2016, the Peggy Guggenheim
Collection presents V. S. Gaitonde: Painting as Process, Painting as Life. Comprising over 40 major paintings and works on paper drawn from leading public institutions and private collections across Asia, Europe, and the United States, this is the first retrospective exhibition dedicated to the work of celebrated Indian modern painter Vasudeo Santu Gaitonde (1924–2001).
As current scholarship revisits traditions of mid-twentieth-century modern art outside the Euro-American paradigm, Gaitonde’s work presents an unparalleled opportunity to explore Indian modern art as it played out in the metropolitan centers of Bombay
(now Mumbai) and New Delhi from the late 1940s through the end of the 20th century.
V. S. Gaitonde was known to fellow Indian artists and intellectuals, as well as to later generations of students and admirers, as a man of uncompromising integrity of spirit and purpose. Born in Nagpur, India, Gaitonde was
briefly affiliated with avant-garde collectives in Bombay in the early 1950s, but remained an independent practitioner throughout most of his career. This exhibition draws an arc from Gaitonde’s early figurative, mixed-medium compositions and watercolors inspired by Paul Klee, through his major bodies of signature canvases of the 1960s and ’70s, to his late works of the 1980s and ’90s.
Departing from Klee, Gaitonde’s oeuvre began in the late 1950s in a non-representational mode, or, as he preferred to call it, a non-objective style. This turn towards abstraction is in accordance with the artistic principles first espoused by Vasily Kandinsky, as is embodied by the Guggenheim’s origins as the Museum of Non-Objective Painting, and also dovetails with Gaitonde’s lifelong interest in Zen Buddhism.
Including many works that have not been seen by the public, this exhibition reveals Gaitonde’s extraordinary use of color, line, form, and texture, as well as symbolic elements and calligraphy, in works that glow with an inner light. Starting in the early ’60s, he employed palette knives and paint rollers, and later torn pieces of newspaper and magazines, to create abstract forms through a “lift-off” technique. In the mid ’60s, Gaitonde traveled to New York as part of a Rockefeller-funded grant, at which time photographer Bruce Frisch captured the artist working in his studio at the Chelsea Hotel in January 1965. A selection of these rarely seen historic images is presented as part of the installation. Daily at 3.30 pm presentations are offered to the public on the temporary exhibition.

Coinciding with EXPO 2015 and its key theme “Feeding the planet. Energy for
Life”, from September 26, 2015 to February 14, 2016, the evocative rooms of the Doge’s Apartment in the Doge’s Palace will host a detailed, heterogeneous exhibition dedicated to Venice and the complex network of support systems that the city acquired over the centuries so it could develop, grow and prosper. Produced by Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, and Fondazione di Venezia, with the patronage of the Unesco Office Site “Venice and its Lagoon” and EXPO 2015, curated by Donatella Calabi, with scientific coordination by Gabriella Belli and a scientific board that includes some of the most important scholars and experts in this field, the exhibition offers an all-embracing overview of life in the lagoon with an innovative multimedia and interactive itinerary and a multidisciplinary approach combined with the traditional use of historic
papers, paintings and engravings. The itinerary is divided into five thematic sections with the aim of underlining the unique nature of Venice, and the constant efforts its inhabitants made to make the city into the one we know it today. The Lagoon is changes, uses three-dimensional models to illustrate the morphological and hydraulic transformation processes of the territory that endemically conditioned not only food production, water supplies but also communication paths to and from the mainland.
Water and Food in the Lagoon and on the Mainland, not only offers an overview of the difficulty of food production in lands washed by salty waters, but also describes retail and its protagonists frutaroli (greengrocers), pistori (pastry makers) and fishermen. Tintoretto’s monumental painting on loan from the Academy Galleries also offers a sample of the species present in the amphibious Venetian environment,
characterised by an incredible variety of fish and birds.
Banquets, Parades, Games and Festivals uses multiple archive sources to offer an overview of the theme of food from a social perspective, a highly topical theme in the year of the Milan Expo. The local festivals, social events and occasions when food becomes a pretext for gatherings and comparison are illustrated with a series of representative. Architecture and Food then focuses on buildings that were used for the harvest and distribution of food resources: monasteries, military garrisons, hospitals and inns. In the Middle of Water/without Water, here the water supply system is described with a series of maps and iconographic images illustrating how water was transported from the mainland to the lagoon. Published by Marsilio the exhibition catalogue.

Maggiori informazioni sul sito ufficialThe whole information in the official site www.carnevale.venezia.itFesta della Sensa: May Sunday 8th 2016
During the Festa della Sensa (Feast of the Ascension), tourists relive the age-old history of the Serenissima Republic and its intimate relationship with the Sea.
The Festa della Sensa or Ascension of Christ was a feast day for the Republic of Venice commemorates two important events for the Republic: the 9th May 1000AD when Doge Pietro II Orseolo helped Dalmatian inhabitants threatened by the Slavs, and the second event, connected to 1177AD, when Venice was ruled by Doge Sebastiano Ziani. At that time, Pope Alexander III and Emperor Federico Barbarossa met in Venice and stipulated a peace treaty, ending a century-old diatribe between the papacy and the Imperial Reign. The Wedding ceremony of the Sea is held in remembrance of this event each year.
The event consists in some rowing competitions but particularly in a water parade of traditional rowing boats with at the head of the parade is the “Serenissima”, a boat carrying the Mayor and other city dignitaries. Still
today, on board this boat, the marriage rites with the sea are celebrated through an evocative ceremony, of a ring being launched into the water, and the religious ceremony afterwards, at the church of San Nicolò on the Lido. The Redentore Feast 2016 : from July Saturday 16th to Sunday 17th
The Redentore Feast is a deeply felt celebration in Venice as it combines religion with entertainment, thanks to the Saturday night phantasmagorical fireworks’ display attracting thousands of visitors: a kaleidoscope of shades, from a game of light and colours on the inimitable setting in St. Mark’s Basin, lights up the spires, domes and bell towers of the city. At dusk, plenty of boats traditionally decked out with flower festoons, colourful balloons and brightly Chinese lamps begin to flock into both St. Mark’s Basin and the Giudecca Canal. Awaiting
for the firework display, which starts at 11.30 p.m. and lasts late into the night, people enjoy a sumptuous dinner of traditional Venetian specialities.
This tradition dates back to 1577, right at the end of a terrible plague. The Redentore Feast was first held to celebrate the construction of the Palladio’s Redentore Church (i.e. Redeemer Church), built on the Giudecca Island to give thanks for being freed from that plague. Celebrations include the Holy Mass presided by the Bishop and the religious procession to the Palladian basilica, which can be done via an impressive 330 metre pontoon bridge. The Regata Storica 2016: Sunday 4th September
The Regata Storica is the main event in the annual “Voga alla Veneta” rowing calendar. This unique sport has been practised in the Venetian lagoon for thousands of years and today it is particularly well-known for the spectacular historical water pageant that precedes the race. Scores of typically 16th century-style boats with gondoliers in period costume carry the Doge, the Doge’s wife and all the highest ranking Venetian officials
up the Grand Canal in a brightly coloured parade. An unforgettable sight and a true reconstruction of the glorious past of one of most the powerful and influential Maritime Republics in the Mediterranean. The Regata Storica dates back centuries, probably as far back as the mid thirteenth century when the Serenissima needed to train the crews of its huge navy in the art of rowing.
Today there are four races divided in terms of age and type of craft. The best known and most exciting of these is the “Campioni su Gondolini” race, where a series of small, sporting gondolas fly down the Grand Canal to the finishing line at the famous “machina”, the spectacular floating stage located in front of the Ca’ Foscari palace.
