– Betreft 99% van de hoorappareillering
– Types : * CIC (Completely In the Canal) = volledig in de gehoorgang
* ITE (In The Ear) = in de concha
* BTE (Behind The Ear) = achter het oor
* Cross = microfoon dove kant, versterker normale kant)
• Bicross = idem als cross, maar horende kant heeft ook gehoorverlies en versterking nodig
• Gemiddeld > 40dB 3 frekwenties of >30dB geleidingsverlies

Verbetering van QOL bij fitting van een hoorapparaat
(volle cirkels)
CIC toestel
• digitale hoortoestellen, betere filterinstelling per frekwentiezone
• gebruik van hoortoestellen met directionele microfoon

* Bijzondere indicatie: bij unilateraal doof oor (plaatsen langs dove zijde, maar horen met contralaterale zijde)

CI principe
• Geluid wordt opgevangen door de
microfoon
• De spraakprocessor zet het geluid
om in een elektrisch signaal
• De elektrische pulsen worden via
de zendspoel naar het inwendig
deel gestuurd
• Het implantaat stuurt deze pulsen
naar de elektrode in de cochlea
• Gehoorzenuw vangt die pulsen op
en stuurt die door naar de cortex
• Cortex interpreteert geluid

• Congenitale doofheid: implantatie voor leeftijd van 12 maanden (FDA: >12 maanden)
• CI < 2 jaar: integratie in normaal onderwijs rond leeftijd van 5 jaar (als geen andere handicaps)
• Bacteriële meningitis: – Risico labyrinthitis ossificans
– Groter verlies van ganglioncellen
– Spoedprocedure
