warranty repair is not free?

My wife has a mini pro diver and the second time I pulled out the crown to adjust the time it

came off in my hand.The watch is only a couple months old and has to be sent to Invicta for

warranty repair. I can't believe I am required to enclose a check for $28 and pay shipping and insurance. Its going to cost me about $38 to get a warranty repair on a watch that cost

me $65! This can't be true. What a ripoff. It sounds like Invicta is probably making another

profit off of me. I'm debating weather it's worth sending in for the repair. I might just cut

my losses and tell my wife it's not worth the money.

I agree with you and it is not the proper way to run a warranty program, but it's is all laid

out in black and white right on the warranty form. You would be better off just bringing it to

a local jeweler and saving yourself the aggravation and the 2+ month turn around time. I've

been very lucky with all my Invicta's so far (just had to send in one for the 8 week vacation). If I ever need a repair, I'll be taking it to my local jeweler. Get a price from your local

jeweler, Steve, it will probably be a lot cheaper to repair the crown than havind to send it in.

Not to mention that the watch will be back on your wife's wrist in a few days. Good

Honestly, any watch under #100 bucks is not worth the hassle--unless you love it or it has

sentimental value.

Invicta warranty charges are not unusual. I just sent in an Android. I paid shipping and

insurance plus a $9.95 shipping and handling charge for return. I had a Swiss Military

Hanowa watch for one week and it developed a fog under the crystal. I paid shipping and

insurance to the repair shop plus $15.00 for return shipping and handling. All other expenses including replacement of the movement is free per the warranty but shipping and handling

are a cost I must pay. It seems reasonable to me and it might to you if you think about it for

a while.

I took the wife's pro diver to the jeweler after work and he said he would disassemble the

watch and reatach the crown with lock-tight on the stem threads so it wouldn't come off again. All this for only $10 and it will be ready tomorrow. I'm so glad I got some good advice

on this forum before I sent the watch off to the service center. thanks everybody.

I think $28 is excessive it's way more than return shipping will cost. Waranty repairs should be free with maybe an actual return shipping charge. After all they sold me a watch that

should not have broken the second time I pulled out the crown. It's not the money It's the

priciple.

take it to your local jewler or by tools and fix it your self. anything under is not worth

I believe the $28 covers the shipping back overseas to where the watch was assembled. When I inquired about parts for a watch I recently purchased, Rebecca (supervisor over CS)

told me that the repairs are not done in Florida but overseas... and thus the 90 day turn

around. I brought the watch to a local jeweler and had the watch fixed for $25 and in 24

if the issue was a problem caused by invicta they should pay to ship it back to you. Why are

you out of pocket for their inability to make a proper watch.

to everyone that says take it to a local watch guy what are you thinking?

1) you let the company get away with making a flawed product and not have to stand behind

it. 2) you will void the warranty if you ever need to have anything else done to the watch.

They should fix or replace the watch free of all charges. The $38 return fee is their way of

discouraging you from sending the watch back. it is a disgusting policy, stand behind your product please.

What they are thinking is, what's the best way for this person to deal with the situation he

has and get his watch fixed. Your two points are correct, but still, bottom line is there's a watch that needs to get fixed.

When I had the crown come out in my hand in a DiverXL I took it to my local repair shop

and they fixed it while I waited for twenty bucks, and also put in a new battery at the same time. Compare that to spending thirty bucks, waiting three months, and having a 50/50

chance of it coming back broke worse than when I sent it.

Isn't that a sad statement about the company as a whole? If you can't trust them to fix a

watch, why buy one from them in the first place?

You are absolutely correct Tandi I used to buy several per month .... I have only bought two this year (one of them as a gift and it was advertised as having real diamonds which turned

out to be fake diamonds) ...... my Invicta purchasing has come to a stop.

Many times local is cheaper and faster. If it costs more than the watch is worth, throw it

away, not easy to accept but realistic.
