Since our founding as a state-of-the art Medical College in 2010 as a Public Private Partnership entity, our College has

emerged as one of the Gujarat's leading and most respected institute. Today, GCSMCH&RC engage with commitment and

enthusiasm in Hospital, College, Research and Community Services.

I congratulate our 1st Batch of MBBS students and welcome the 2nd batch for their brilliance in academic and co-curricular

activities. The devotion and commitment of the faculty and non-teaching fraternity deserve to mention here. I am proud of

my Board, Consultants & Colleagues helping to serve 1.2 lacs of patients within a span of one and half years. Our OPD and

In-Patient services already made reputation for itself for the quality healthcare delivery.

Our consultants and faculty were regularly engaged in Research activities and the institute offer and develop a supporting

eco-system for progress in their domains. I am proud of them for contributing substantially towards the release of ‘GCSMC

Journal of Medical Sciences’ magazine within the 1st year of inception of the college. Till now we have hosted 2

international, 2 national and various regional seminars in our institute.

To fulfil our aim of community service, we organized various medical camps in rural and urban slum area build a healthy

community. Our proactive health awareness campaigns were aptly appreciated by Government and local bodies.

To sustain and grow we ensure latest technology acquisitions are made in care delivery and support systems. Whether you

Chairman’s Message

History:

Gujarat Cancer Society (GCS) is a 50 year old charitable trust pioneering fight against cancer with the help of Government of

Gujarat. In the year 1971 Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI) was established as first public private partnership

venture between GCS and Government of Gujarat where Governor of Gujarat presides over the organization. Since then

GCS has been providing care to the patient suffering from cancer at M.P. Shah Cancer Hospital, Civil Hospital Compound,

Ahmedabad and Community Oncology Centre (COC), Vasna where lacs of patients have been diagnosed and treated till

date.

GCS has tremendous record of capabilities in health care, education, research and community services. Our expertise

prompted Gujarat Government to invite us to start a healthcare facility to serve the under-privileged citizens at affordable

cost and create a stream of trained medical professionals. Government of Gujarat had given 25 acres of land and at present

MCI had given permission for 150 students' admission in MBBS course annually.
