ENTERING THE EXAMINATION VENUE
• Bring along Entry Proof and NRIC/Foreign Identification documents/ Student Concession Card
• If you are wearing a jacket, you will need to take it off. (pg 12 – 4.1.3)
• Empty your pockets and show them to the invigilator before you enter the examination area.

• start writing until you are told to do so;
• continue to write after the stop writing announcement

USE OF DICTIONARIES IN

treated as a breach of
examination regulations.

PRINT DICTIONARIES
Only monolingual
dictionaries are allowed.
Dictionaries must NOT
have any annotations
such as:
a. tagging of pages with
stickers;
b. highlighted text; and
c. written text.

ELECTRONIC DICTIONARIES (pg 10 – 3.15)
Make sure your e-dictionary is in
good working condition. You are
encouraged to bring an additional
e-dictionary (if you have) or spare
batteries.
Ear pieces and external storage
medias (e.g. SD card and plug-in
modules) must NOT be brought
into the examination hall.

You are NOT allowed to borrow dictionaries
during the examination.

If you breach any examination rules and
regulations, you may be:
a) prohibited from taking the examination;
b) expelled from the examination room;
c) refused entry for subsequent papers;
d) have your results annulled or a grade
penalty; and/or
e) banned from registering for national
examinations in future years.

WHAT TO DO DURING AN
UNEXPECTED SITUATION

If you have contracted a
contagious disease just
before or during the
examination period,
please see a qualified
medical practitioner.
If you wish to continue to sit the
examination(s), please obtain a
letter from the doctor certifying that
you are medically fit to do so, and
inform the school. The school will
make the necessary arrangements
for you to sit the examination(s)
in school.
If you are hospitalised,
inform the school.
Arrangements will be made
for you to take the
examination(s) in the
hospital if you are certified
medically fit to take the
examination(s).

SOME USEFUL ADVICE FOR
YOUR EXAMINATIONS
Stay calm, you have done your revision. You can do it!
Clarify any doubts that you may have on the
examination rules and regulations with your
teacher.
Have enough
rest.
Eat healthily to avoid falling sick
during the examination period.
Drink sufficient water to keep
yourself well-hydrated.
