Joint Admissions Exercise

The Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) is conducted

annually by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to allow

Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level certificate holders to

apply for admission to courses offered by:

• Junior Colleges (JC)

• Millennia Institute (MI)

• Polytechnics

• Institute of Technical Education (ITE)

aggregate scores for better fit and better chances of being

scheduled for release on 31 January 2019 (Thurs)

through the following modes:

- JAE-IS, which is accessible through the JAE website

- SMS to the Singapore mobile number provided by

the applicant during registration

Applicants posted to Junior Colleges or Millennia

Institute are to report to their posted institutions on

01 February 2019 (Friday). Applicants posted to

polytechnics and ITE will receive a letter from their

respective institutions on the enrolment details.

Students who had accepted offers through the 2018

DSA-JC Exercise will be admitted to their chosen JC if

they have met the eligibility criteria for admission based

on their GCE O-Level examination results.

Students admitted to a JC through DSA-JC will not be

eligible to participate in the JAE.

Students who do not meet the JC admission criteria

may take part in the JAE to apply for courses which

they are eligible for.

Students who had accepted conditional offers to a

polytechnic course through the EAE in 2018 and have

their offers confirmed based on their GCE O-Level

examination results will not be eligible to participate in

the JAE.

Their EAE offers are confirmed if they meet the

following criteria:

- ELR2B2 26 points for GCE O-level exam; and

- Minimum Entry Requirements for the course

Students who do not meet the above criteria may take

part in the JAE.

PFP-eligible students will receive a copy of Form P,

inviting them to apply for the PFP.

Submit the application online via the PFP website at

https://pfp.polytechnic.edu.sg/PFP/index.html

Application Period

From 2 pm on 14 Jan 2019 until 4 pm on 18 Jan 2019.

PFP Posting Result will be released through the PFP

website at 2 pm on 22 Jan 2019.

To indicate accept, reject, or appeal for a change of

course by 4 pm on 24 Jan 2019.

Secondary 4 N(A) students who are newly eligible after

taking into account their O-level examination results

should submit their DPP applications online.

From 2.30 pm on 14 Jan until 11.59 pm on 18 Jan.

DPP Posting Result will be released through the DPP

portal at 9 am on 22 Jan 2019.

To indicate accept, reject by 11.59 pm on 24 Jan 2019.

Students who have been offered a place in DPP should

report to ITE on the 24 Jan 2019 (Thu), upon acceptance

of their DPP course offer.

The last day of school for Sec 5 students who have

accepted a place in the PFP will be on 25 Jan 2019 (Fri).

Students will be informed by the respective polytechnics

of the enrolment dates for the PFP.

Students who accepted a place in the earlier application

phase of the DPP but have now decided to take up a PFP

offer will need to apply to ITE to withdraw from the DPP

first, before they are able to take up that PFP offer.

Sec 4E and Sec 5N students are eligible to repeat their

GCE O-Level Examination only if they satisfy all the

following criteria: -

(a) obtained:

i. no more than 2 GCE O-Level passes and an

aggregate of 44 points or less in 5 subjects

(excl. CCA bonus points)

ii. 3 or more GCE O-Level passes but do not qualify

for admission to Junior Colleges, Millennia

(b) will not be more than:

i. 4 years overage, for SG Citizens / PR (i.e. born on or after 02 Jan 1998 for Sec 5N students,

and born on or after 02 Jan 1999 for Sec 4E students)

ii. 2 years overage, for IS(i.e. born on or after 02 Jan 2000 for Sec 5N students,

and born on or after 02 Jan 2001 for Sec 4E students)
