TRADITIONAL DAY-2020

Gayatri Vidya Parishad College For Degree & P.G.Courses (A),The

Department Of Commerce, Dwarkanagar campus celebrated one of the

most anticipated day of the year, “Traditional Day” to promote “Unity in

Diversity” which is based on the concept where the individual or social

difference in physical attribute like skin colour, castes, cultural and religious

practices, etc; are looked upon as varieties that enrich the society and the

nation as a whole.

Traditional Day was held on 4th of March, 2020 at the college. It was an

eventful day. It’s a day designated for people to come in traditional attire of

their home state or specific culture of their choice.

Event was inaugurated with lamp lightening and Saraswati & Gayatri puja.

This is followed by prayer song, Rangoli and Mehandi competition’s.

The celebrations were continued by a major competition for the best state –

“The Elite” where I B.Com students showed cultures of Kerala, Punjab,

Rajasthan; II B.Com Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat,

Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh by III B.Com.

Students had a blast showing their talents on the stage which included ramp

walk, dance and skits. Students were completely in their high traditional

competitive spirit. Their inner creativity and potentialities were driven

through these traditional competitions. Food competition named

“DELECACIES OF INDIA” was also held wherein participants presented

delicacies of specific state of their choice.

The clothing of the undergraduates looked basically stunning as they on the

whole shown a variety of India.

Prizes were given to the winners by Judges. In all, it was a great success

and it definitely strengthened the bonds among ethnic and racial diversity in

India. Group photographs were clicked by everyone to create memories of

this beautiful day. The event was covered by the media.

The program was concluded with vote of thanks.
