Site Information Facility Specifications O’Connell Center Pool is an indoor 8-lane 50-meter pool split by a bulkhead into two 8-lane 25-yard pools. There is plenty of spectator seating. Parking/ Directions Parking is available in the lot directly next to the O’Connell center, which is north of the pool. Parking is lifted on the weekends. If this is not the case come February 17th, an email will be sent out to all participating teams regarding updated parking information. If you have any issues regarding parking, please contact a meet director. Directions to O’Connell Center from I-75 South Exit I-75 to Archer Rd. Upon exit, turn RIGHT onto Archer Rd. and follow until Gale Lemerand Dr. Turn left onto Gale Lemerand Dr. Follow past Stadium Rd. The O’Connell Center and its parking lot will be on your left. Directions to O’Connel Center from I-75 North

Exit I-75 to Archer Rd. Upon exit, turn LEFT onto Archer Rd. and follow until Gale Lemerand Dr. Turn left onto Gale Lemerand Dr. Follow past Stadium Rd. The O’Connell Center and its parking lot will be on your left. Check-In Upon arrival at the O’Connell Center, please send ONE representative of your team to the diving boards. Each team must check in and pay for all associated fees no later than the beginning of the meet. Once we have received your payment, we will give your team heat sheets and your team can make themselves comfortable. There will be a presidents/coaches meeting at 9:45am. You can complete check-in there. Concessions There are no concessions sold on the pool deck of the O’Connell center. We recommend packing snacks. There are water fountains located outside of both locker rooms. FCSD will be holding a post-meet fundraiser at a local restaurant. We invite you to join us. Information regarding the location and time are TBD. Updates will be sent out via email. Merchandise There will be a T-shirt specific to this meet available for purchase on deck. An email will be sent out featuring the design. We ask that with your meet entry, you provide us an estimate number of athletes interested in purchasing the shirt as well as approximate sizes. This way, we can have enough readily available for everyone.

Midtown is conveniently a 5-minute walk from the O’Connell Center. Here you will find an array of food from restaurants like Swamp, Social, Tijuana Flats, Relish, Designer Greens, Grill Fresh, Tatu, and many others. You will also find a variety of nightlife at Grog, Fats, Rowdies, Tatu, Social, and Swamp. Downtown Downtown Gainesville is a popular attraction for both Gainesville natives and tourists. Located about 10 minutes from the O’Connell center, you can find quality food from places like OAK, V-Pizza, Dragonfly Sushi, and many others. You can also enjoy nightlife at Simons or Rockey’s Piano Bar. Food If nothing in Midtown or Downtown interests you, there is plenty of food located on campus and off of Archer Rd. Archer is home to many popular chain restaurants such as Outback, Chili’s, TGI Friday’s and Olive Garden. You can easily find a Chick-Fil-A, McDonalds, Panera Bread, Tropical Smoothie, Chipotle, and many more fast-food restaurants. Blaze Pizza is located on Archer Rd and there is a Starbucks on nearly every corner.

*for events 27-30, we will be doing timed trials for those athletes interested in making their nationals cuts. We are offering 200 freestyle, 200 butterfly, 200 backstroke, 200 breastroke, and 400 individual medley. The 200 events may be combined based on the number of swimmers entered. For events 27-30 there is no opportunity to score points.

Athlete Eligibility An athlete is allowed to participate in the meet and score points if they meet all of the following criteria:

1. The athlete is a member in good standing of a club affiliated with a university or college

2. The athlete is enrolled as a full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate student or is a full-time co-op student in the current term.

3. The athlete is not receiving any athletic scholarship in the current academic year.

Any other athlete may still participate in the Gator Chomp Invite; however, they will participate as an exhibition athlete, scoring no points for any team.

Scoring will be based on a 10-place basis. All events will be swim as timed finals. Relays will be scored on a doubled scale. The scoring breakdown is below: Place 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

Awards Results will be calculated as soon as possible and will be announced on deck following the meet.

Meet Entry Guidelines Individual Events An athlete may participate in a maximum of 4 individual events. Relay Events A team may enter up to 3 relay teams for each relay (i.e. A team, B team, and C team). All 3 relay teams will have the capability to score points. There is no maximum for how many relays an individual swimmer may enter. Entry Fees $15 per athlete, up to 50 athletes (for a maximum total of $750 per team). Teams may enter more than 50 athletes, but they will not be charged for athletes being entered past 50 members. Payments will be accepted via cash or check.

Post-Competition Social There will be a social on Saturday night.
