Confession of Faith..............................................................................from Colossians 1:15-20 Leader: Let us confess our faith using Colossians 1:15-20: Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities— all things were created through him and for him. People: Jesus is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. Leader: For in Jesus all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. People: And we, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present us holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed we continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that we heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven.

Confession of Sin Leader: Father, Christ, and Spirit, we come before you to confess our sins. All: Though you should guide us, we inform ourselves. Though you should rule us, we control ourselves. Though you should fulfill us, we console ourselves. We think your truth is too high, your will is too hard, your power is too remote, your love is too free. They are not! And without them, we are ultimately miserable. Leader: Send the Spirit to reveal your our sin and redeem us to enable honest confession before you. All: Convict our mind with your truth; compel our motives to your mission; cleanse our conscience with your grace; captivate our anxious hearts with your glory; all through the power of Christ who loves us and gave himself for us.
