Gary Hooper Lands At S6, Finally. Long term Wednesday target, Gary Hooper, finally made a loan switch to Hillsboro this week joining fellow Canary, Michael Turner, at the club. The 27 year old also links up with former Celtic teammate Glenn Loovens after recovering from an ankle injury recently. Hooper has been assigned the number 14 shirt for his stint at the club and will be working hard to force his way into a side at the right end of the form table. Head coach Carlos Carvalhal admitted the Essex born striker had been a target since day one during his latest media appearance, explaining the right footer’s link up play is a big plus for The Owls. Joining initially until the 17 th of January and self admittedly not 100% match fit after injury and only 11 minutes under his belt this term, Hooper still doesn’t know where he will be playing his football next season. Out of contract at Norwich in the summer, his future is somewhat unclear but his parent club do have the option of a one year extension. A goalscorer is seen by many Sheffield Wednesday fans as the final piece of the jigsaw and they see the former Scunthorpe United striker as the man to deliver the goods in the final third. Once touted as a potential striker for the England national team and also seen as many as the best striker at Celtic Park since Henrik Larsson, Hooper said his aims were to play games, score goals and help Wednesday climb the Championship table.
