Made and sold by the Beneficial Reuse Division of the Water Utilities Department, they are produced primarily from yard trimmings collected by the Solid Waste & Recycling Department and biosolids recycled from the Pecan Creek Water Reclamation Plant. Dyno Dirt products have excellent soil-conditioning and moisture-retention properties and provide natural, slow-release fertilization. Denton-area residents and professionals have been using Dyno Dirt products since 1997 for a variety of applications, including landscape planting and mulching, lawn establishment and maintenance, vegetable and flower gardens, nursery crop and green house production, and turf and sod production. The Dyno Dirt program is an excellent example of city-wide recycling cooperation. The program prolongs our landfill’s life by recycling material that might otherwise go unused. This nutrient-rich compost is ideal for lawns, flower and vegetable gardens, and trees and shrubs. Dyno Dirt meets all Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requirements for “uncontrolled use” as a soil conditioner resulting in the production of superior-quality compost, which is carefully processed to maintain excellent soil building attributes and a remarkable abundance of beneficial microorganisms. For best results, mix one to two inches of Dyno Dirt with the top six to eight inches of existing soil. For potting, this product should be blended with soil or other materials to achieve a 50/50 mix.

& PRICING WHERE TO BUYAll Dyno Dirt products can be paid for and picked up at the City of Denton Pecan Creek Water Reclamation Plant, located at 1100 S. Mayhill Rd. The Dyno Dirt facility is open year-round on Tuesdays-Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At the facility, Dyno Dirt products are sold in bulk and will be loaded into your truck or open trailer. Accepted forms of payment include cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover.

DirectionsFrom I-35E, exit State School/Mayhill Road (exit 462). Head north on Mayhill Road; and when Mayhill Road intersects Colorado Boulevard, turn right to continue onto South Mayhill Road. After about 1.2 miles, turn right at the Spencer Road intersection, then merge left toward the Water Reclamation Plant.

Dyno Lite, a moisture-retaining compost, contains no biosolids and is made of 100 percent composted yard waste.
