Connection 1“ IG Electrical connection

The electrical connection takes place via an electric safety socket 230 V ~ 50 Hz. Fuse protection at least 10 Amperes.

The appliance is turned on/off by means of the ON-/OFF-switch. The indicator light of the switch glows, if the engine is started.

The engine is protected against overloading or blocking by means of a built-in motor protection. In case of overheating the pump is turned off automatically due to the overheat protection and after the cooling the pump is automatically started.

Suction line

Connect a suction hose (plastic hose min. 3/4" spiral reinforced) directly or with a thread nipple to the suction connection (1" internal thread) of the pump.

The suction which is used should have a suction valve. In case the suction valve cannot be em-ployed a check valve should be installed in the suction line.

Position the suction line from the water withdrawal to the pump on a rising gradient. Avoid by all means placing the suction line higher than the pump height, air pockets in the suction line slow down and impede the suction process.

The suction and the pressure line have to be installed in such a way, so that they do not exert any mechanical pressure on the pump.

The suction valve should lie deeply enough in the water, so that a drop in the water level cannot lead to the dry running of the pump.

A leaking suction line prevents the suction of water due to air intake. Avoid sucking in foreign particles (sand etc.) and if necessary install a prefilter.

Pressure line connection

The pressure line (should be at least 3/4") must be connected directly or via a thread nipple to the pressure line connector (1" internal thread) of the pump. With the suitable screw joints a 1/2"- pressure hose can be used. Correspondingly the pump out-put is reduced due to the small pressure hose.

During the suction process the shut-off devices (valves, spray nozzles) in the pressure line must be completely open so that the air in the suction line can escape freely.

Commissioning

Position the pump on a stable and flat location with a temperature that does not exceed 40°C. Place the pump in a horizontal position so that the bearing can function properly; tighten the pump to the ground.

Install the suction line so that it is ready for use. The suction hose should not be narrower than the suction connection. If the suction height exceeds 4 m, you must use a suction line with a lar-ger diameter.

Establish the electrical connection. Fill in the pump with water at the pressure port. During the suction process the shut-off devices (valves, spray nozzles) in the pressure line must

be completely open so that the air in the suction line can escape freely. Depending on the suction height and the air quantity in the suction line, the first suction process

can take approx. 0,5 min - 5 min. For longer suction periods new water should be refilled. If the pump is removed after its use, do not forget it has to be refilled with water (before you operate the pump again) before restarting and connecting it again.

Maintenance advice

The pump is largely maintenance-free. For a long operating life we recommend regular checks and maintenance. Attention! Before every maintenance the pump must be switched off, so disconnect the pump from the power supply.

During long periods of non-use the pump must be rinsed thoroughly with water, completely emp-tied and stored in a dry environment.

In case of danger frost the pump must be completely emptied. After longer non-operation periods, check if the rotor turning is carried out properly by briefly

switching on and off. In case the pump is blocked, connect the pressure line to the water line and remove the suction

hose. Open the water line. Turn on the pump for sevaral times for approx. two seconds. This way blockages can be cleared in most cases.

Attention! The pump must not run dry.

Pump control Waterworks

Pressure switch EDWC2001

The pressure switch automatically controls the start & stop of the pump depending on the pressure drop (opening of the water faucet) and the water flow stop (closing the water faucet). The pressure switch stops the pump if no water is conveyed (protection against dry running). Technical data - specifications: Input voltage 220-250V / 50 Hz / Max. 10A Pressure range 1 - 4 bar / 58 psi Max. pressure 10 bar Max temperature 55°C Connections 25,4 mm inside thread Protection class IP 65 Function:

1. Starts and Stops the pump automatically. 2. It protects the pump against damage caused by dry running. 3. The pressure switch starts the pump for 15 seconds, if it is connected to the voltage

source. If the pressure in the line system drops, the pump is restarted. In the case of the conventional systems with pressure switch & pressure tank, the pump stops running if a certain pressure level is achieved. In contrast to this, the pressure switch stops depending on the flow rate. In doing so it delays the pump’s switching off for a few seconds (7 to 15 seconds) to minimize the number of pump starts.

LED-indication:

1. The upper (1st) LED (Alarm) blinks: the automatic unit is off due to lack of water (protection against dry running), press „Restart“ to start the unit again.

2. The middle (2nd) LED blinks: the pump is switched on. 3. The lower (3rd) LED blinks: the switch has voltage 4. Restart (Reset) – restart button
