As the Physician Assistant National Recertifying Exam (PANRE) and Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE) change, so do the materials you need to prepare for them.

CRASH COURSE IN QUICK CLINICAL SKILLSMonday 1:00 PM to 5:00 PMCourse is student directed. Any additional skills requested will be discussed. Many of the skills will be demonstrated or practiced by students. Procedures covered include joint injection, ingrown toenail removal, knee examination, dislocated mandible relocation, facial nerve blocks, foreign-body-in-eye removal, back pain evaluation, shoulder examination and knee aspiration.

BASIC EKG & EKG 12-LEAD INTERPRETATIONFriday 8:00 AM to 11:00 AMAfter reviewing the principles of the basic ECG criteria, the focus turns to the interpretation of a 12-lead ECG strip. You will be able to understand the basics of EKGs including axis at a glance, ischemia vs infarct vs injury and arrhythmias.

EYE EXAMS Monday 8:00 AM to 10:00 AMThis workshop will cover the basic eye examination, some common pathology and common findings in the emergency setting. Each attendee will be given individual slit lamp examination training.

IMAGING OF THE SPINE WITH XRAY & MRIWednesday 1:30 PM to 3:30 PMLearn how to review radiographic and spine MRI images and expand your knowledge in making the appropriate differential diagnosis.

JOINT INJECTIONS & ASPIRATIONSTuesday 1:45 PM to 4:45 PMThis workshop provides guidelines for methods and materials, patient preparation, equipment needed and procedures for common joint injections and aspirations. Learn techniques for shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and trigger point injections.

MUSCULOSKELETAL ULTRASOUND: DIAGNOSIS & INTERVENTIONMonday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PMMusculoskeletal ultrasound is quickly taking its place as a widely used application within general ultrasound. This program will teach you how to apply the technology of musculoskeletal imaging in your daily practice.

NIGHTSHIFT IN THE ED: RADIOLOGYThursday 7:00 AM to 9:00 AMThis workshop presents multiple short cases encountered in the ED setting. Cases will be presented with a description of the complaint and the x-ray taken in order to diagnose the patient.

ORTHOPEDIC EXAM: KNEE & ANKLE*Thursday 7:00 AM to 9:00 AMThe curriculum covers the basics for a quick orthopedic exam of the knee and ankle, and advanced techniques for specific pathology.

ORTHOPEDIC EXAM: SHOULDER & ELBOW*Wednesday 3:30 PM to 5:30 PMThis workshop places emphasis on the shoulder and elbow exam techniques, as well as advanced techniques for specific pathology.

PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORTTuesday 1:45 PM to 5:45 PMThis course is for those with a current PALS course card. Recognize the infant or child at risk of cardiopulmonary arrest; resuscitate and stabilize infant/child in respiratory failure, shock or arrest.

PROCEDURE SKILLSFriday 8:00 AM to 11:00 AMThis workshop will cover common procedures encountered in primary care and emergency settings including toenail removal, abscess drainage, chest tubes and spinal tap. Course is student directed. Additional skills will be discussed upon request. The focus of this workshop will be to review basic skills that you may not have recently practiced.

SPINE & EVALUATION WORKSHOPFriday 1:30 PM to 3:30 PMLearn to evaluate and manage disorders of the spine. We will focus on the conservative treatment of common spinal disorders affecting athletes and non-athletes.

SUTURING & WOUND TECHNIQUES Wednesday 8:00 AM to 11:00 AMThe first five people to sign up will take home a basic suture set! Update your knowledge and practice suture skills including simple interrupted, corner stitch, vertical/horizontal and running suture. Individual hands on teaching is the goal of the workshop and each student will have one-on-one time with the instructor.

TEAM: TRAUMA EVALUATION & MANAGEMENTThursday 1:00 PM to 5:00 PMThis workshop will orient you to the initial evaluation and early management of the trauma patient. The concepts presented are derived from the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Course for Doctors. This is a formal course designed by the American College of Surgeons.

The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $100 per player, and includes green fees and cart. If players wish to select their own team, notify the tournament chair on-site.
