TIGERS4-4 Overall; 3-2 Suburban League
We talk about it being an all-the-time thing, not when it
is comfortable or convenient. What kind of player do
you want to be? What kind of impact do you want to
have on the program?
Everyone has dreams of being great, but to actually go
out and make it happen through hard work is something
we strive for. It has to do with effort.
“The nice thing is individually we control all of those
things in PCE,” Bell said.

The three letters "PCE" is a cultural blueprint that Twinsburg
coach Mike Bell wants his program to follow each day.
Playing the game with passion, being a great
teammate, doing everything with passion.

2018 SCHEDULE GAME DAY 360
Twinsburg will look to snap a two-game losing streak when the Tigers travel to Hudson on Oct. 19.
The Explorers are 3-5 and are coming off a loss to Stow. Hudson is a run-heavy squad led by Brady Ludewig and Drew Lightner. Hudson also relies on a sturdy defense that has consistently kept them in every game this season.
The Tigers lost to the undefeated Wadsworth Grizzlies in Week 8 and played without QB Adam Van der Motter, who was out with an injury. Max Brazie filled in for Van der Motter and the Wadsworth defense was able to shut down Twinsburg's offense. Jamir James, Jameel Banks and James Besett are all dangerous offensive weapons.
The defense continues to be led by standout defensive lineman Rashad Jones-Land and a group of athletic playmakers behind him.
BELL RINGING - Tigers Head Coach Mike Bell discusses last week's game against
the Wadsworth Grizzlies and the upcoming week 9 game vs Hudson
"Wadsworth is a very good football team. We must learn all we can from this loss so that we can improve and ready ourselves for a strong finish to the regular season."
"We must take a one game at time approach with the remainder of our season and focus on our preparation. This approach begins with Hudson. They are a program that has enjoyed a great deal of success in recent years so they know how to win. We really need to focus on our core values of passion, commitment, and execution this week and allow these principles to guide us mentally and physically."

HUDSON ALUM PLAYING FOR THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Vikings linebacker, and Hudson graduate, Ben Gedeon is in his second season in the NFL. Gedeon was drafted in the 4th round of the 2017 draft by Minnesota and played in all 16 games last season, making nine starts at linebacker.
Coming into the NFL Draft, Gedeon was considered one of the best linebackers in the overall draft; including a bench press of 225-pounds, 27 times.
Gedeon played college football at the University of Michigan, where in 2016, he earned All Big 10 - second team. In 14 games in his senior year, Gedeon had 106 total tackles, including 15 TFLs and 4.5 sacks.
At Hudson, Gedeon, a Plain Dealer All-Star selection in 2013, was a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and Scout.com, and accounted for more than 100 tackles from his linebacker position for the Explorers.
He also rushed for 1,418 yards and 19 touchdowns as a tailback, and caught 23 passes for 168 yards and two scores, leading Hudson to the playoffs for the first time in eight years.
HUDSON MEMORIAL STADIUM
The $5.5 million high school sports complex was completed in 2012.
Despite the new Hudson High School opening in 1992, the athletic complex did not move forward on the property until 2009. At that time, entrepreneur Tom Murdough donated about $3 million to the stadium’s construction, and the remaining funds were collected privately from the community through the sale of commemorative bricks.
The stadium seats 6,000, includes a 4,000 seat home grandstand complete with reserved, chair-back seating.
Undefeated Wadsworth rolled past host Twinsburg, 41-0, in a Suburban League matchup on Oct. 12.
Wadsworth dominated on the ground. Dom Loparo rushed for 83 yards and two TDs on seven carries to lead the Grizzlies.
Josh Bach added 80 yards on 14 carries and one TD. Brock Snowball contributed 53 yards on 10 carries and one TD.
Wadsworth's defense never let the Tigers' ground game get into a rhythm and limited them in the passing game to five catches for 18 yards.
Twinsburg QB Adam Van Der Motter did not play because of injury and the Grizzlies took advantage.
Max Brazie threw two interceptions and completed five of 10 passes. The Grizzlies held Twinsburg to 86 rushing yards.
Late in the second quarter the Grizzlies took their starters out, but still continued to produce gaping holes in the run game.
The team racked up 357 yards of total offense.
The Stow Bulldogs stunned the Hudson Explorer on Friday night, scoring 13 unanswered, fourth quarter points, and winning the game 27-23
Hudson fell to 3-5 on the season and 3-2 in Suburban League with the loss.
The Explorers QB, Liam Brennan, tossed two touchdown passes and threw for 218 yards in the loss. But the running game for Hudson netted just 13 total yards.

Mike Bell is in his fourth year as coach of the Tigers and is looking to build on his past successes, bringing winning football back to Twinsburg.
Prior to coming to Twinsburg, Bell served one year as the head coach at Eastlake North and had a very successful 12-year run as head coach at Lake Catholic in Mentor.
In 12 seasons at Lake Catholic, the Cougars won 6 NCL Championships, qualified for the state playoffs 8 times (playoff record of 17-8) with 5 Regional Title appearances (2003, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010) and 3 state semifinal appearances (2007, 2009, and 2010).
Prior to 2002, Bell served as the Cougars' defensive coordinator for three seasons, winning the Division III State Championship in 2001.
Prior to coaching at Lake Catholic, Bell spent three years at Willoughby South as a position coach and defensive coordinator, four years at Maple Heights, and two seasons at his alma mater Pymatuning Valley.
The first step toward creating an improved future is developing the ability to envision it.
VISION will ignite the fire of passion, which fuels our commitment to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to achieve excellence.
Only VISION allows us to transform dreams of greatness into the reality of achievement through human action.
VISION has no boundaries and knows no limit.
Our VISION is what we become in life.

Twinsburg coach Mike Bell has always been a strong believer in building a program and not just simply a football team that competes on Friday night.
Part of that is the involvement of those outside of the players and coaches, including the administration, the community and perhaps most importantly, the football parents.Bell said the Tigers are extremely lucky to have the support of The Gridiron Club at Twinsburg and he doesn’t take it for granted.
“It starts with our administration doing a great job getting our young men the equipment and necessities for the game, but when you think about all the extras to make us a first-class program that is where the Gridiron Club comes in and really helps us,” Bell said.
“There are a million ways for parents to get involved and I always encourage parents to get involved and do what they can because it doesn’t last forever at the high school level obviously. The years go fast.”
The Gridiron Club is an organization of football parents in grades 7 through 12. There is no fee to join and all members of the community are welcome to attend meetings. The Club meets the second Monday of the month at Twinsburg High School. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. All of the fundraising is run through Twinsburg Athletic Boosters.
The Gridiron Club raises funds to help support the team off the turf. From purchasing a new sound system for the locker room to feeding the boys on Friday nights and scrimmages, purchasing football gear such as t-shirts and cinch bags, senior gifts and hosting the end of year banquet. These events are important in developing a sense of unity and pride in the program.
Twinsburg Tiger Stadium is one of the most used athletic facilities in Northeast Ohio. Twinsburg officials say Tiger Stadium's field gets used upwards of 950 times each year for various athletic events and practices -- from football, to soccer, to regional sporting events.
In the summer of 2015, the Stadium received a major upgrade to the playing surface. New field turf was installed featuring a unique blue border and a large Tiger logo at midfield. The 'grass' has a “paneled” look of lighter and darker green shades every five yards replacing the carpet that was installed in 2005.
Tiger Stadium has become a perennial site for OHSAA football playoff games, hosting two games last year - the Division I Region 1 Semifinal (St Edward vs Stow) and the Division II Region 5 Final (Hudson and Warren Harding)

TWINSBURG STATISTICS (8 game totals)
1 - What made you want to get involved with the gridiron club?
I believe that it important for parents to be involved and have an active role in any sport the their child may play. In addition, it gives me an opportunity to see first hand all the positive things occurring within the program and support the program as a whole (players, coaches and parents).
2 - What is it about Coach Bell and the program that has you excited for the future of the Tigers?
Coach Bell’s vision to build the program 7-12 has me excited about the future. The fact that he is committed to building positive relationships both on and off the field will help create the winning culture and commitment to the sport.
3 - What are some of the behind the scenes things the gridiron club does to support the football program and make the experience better for players and coaches?
We organize the fundraisers that benefit the program financially. We provide opportunities for players to bond by hosting team activities. We also provide game meals for all teams 7-12. We purchase items for coaches that help support the work they do for the program. All these things ultimately support the vision of the program and couldn’t happen without the support of our great parent volunteers and support of TAB.
4 - What is your favorite part of the Friday night game day experience?
I love everything about Friday Night. From the time the players and coaches take the field to the clock runs out. It’s exciting to see the student section so engaged and supporting their classmates as well as the administration. Friday Night really brings the community together and gives those with players and those without the opportunity to unite as one and support the program.

OCTOBER 19, 1781 - - British General Charles Cornwallis surrendered his army of some 8,000 men to Continental Army General George Washington at Yorktown, effectively ending the American Revolutionary War. Cornwallis had marched his army into the Virginia port town earlier that summer expecting to meet British ships sent from New York. The ships never arrived.
In early October, approximately 17,000 American and French troops led by Generals George Washington and Jean-Baptiste Rochambeau, respectively, surrounded the British-occupied town of Yorktown. Off the coast, French Admiral François de Grasse strategically positioned his naval fleet to control access to the town via the Chesapeake Bay and the York River.
With no hope for escape, Cornwallis agreed to the terms of Washington’s Articles of Capitulation, signing the document at Moore House on October 19. Hours after the surrender, the general’s defeated troops marched out of Yorktown to the tune “The World Turned Upside Down.”
