SUMMER 2014 Although it’s technically the ‘off-season’ we’ve got a packed newsletter for you so please have a good read through, especially the section on fundraising. We rely on fundraising efforts to supplement our income and ensure we can keep running so please have a look at how you can help. In other news the Club got shortlisted at the Somerset Sports Awards in the ‘Club of the Year’ category and coach Lisa Manley for ‘Performance Coach of the Year’, although we didn’t win it was a huge honour to get that far and a fantastic testament to our coaches, volunteers and members. Finally, make sure you have a look at how you can win a t-shirt signed by the England netball team, good luck! Club Fundraising - you can help ....... One very easy way that everyone can help is by using EasyFundraising when you shop online. It’s quick and easy to register, and once you have, you just need to shop via your EasyFundraising account to generate donations to the Club. There is even a “Find & Remind” toolbar you can install, which will tell you if you are on a website which gives donations to our cause. There are loads of retailers who are linked to EasyFundraising – Amazon, Debenhams, Next, M&S, Topshop, New Look etc. Using EasyFundraising is really easy and costs you nothing to join or to use. If you are not yet registered, please go to http:// www.easyfundraising.org.uk/galmingtonseniornc/ and click the “Support Us Now” button. This will take you through the registration process. Once registered, install the “Find & Remind” toolbar, so that you never forget to shop via EasyFundraising. Easy! We also run a Club Bonus Ball where you pay £5 a month for a number between 1 and 49, if the number is drawn as the bonus ball in the main Saturday lotto draw, you win £25, selected dates have a £100 prize! For more details contact Sue Cooper ([email protected] ) or look on the club website which lists the available numbers. We are always keen to hear if our players/parents/friends have any fundraising ideas, if so please get in touch with our Fundraising Officer, Lucy Low ([email protected] ). Butlins 2014On the weekend of 5th - 7th July a squad of 12 players from various senior teams in the Club came together to compete in the Butlins Netball Tournament in Minehead. It was a great weekend socially and to top it off we won! After winning the majority of our games on the Saturday we were put into the Cup competition for the Sunday where the semi-final saw us play the Devizes regional team. With the score 6-6 at full time we played extra time of a minute each way, after which the score was still 6-6. Golden Goal rules were put into force on their centre pass but we intercepted, scored and went on to win the final, well done ladies.
