GALLOWAY MAT WASHING PROCESS

• First there was a finite amount of water, 100 cubic meters in total, and this would be all the water available for the project unless absolutely necessary. Whatever was generated for solids would have to be washed from the swamp mats and removed continually though out the day so the washing process could proceed.

• The mat washing unit required from 700 US gpm to 1200 US gpm of completely solids free fluid feeding 150 high pressure nozzles with a pressure of 1800 psi per nozzle. If any solids passed through the wash system it would wash out and plug the nozzles very quickly.

• The solids generated were all ultra-fines, top soil and silts from the mats as they are transported in from the job sites. The amount of solids was up to 20,000 kg per day per 1000 swamp mats. The washing cycle was run during a 12 hour work day with 10 hours of washing, thus we generated 2000kg per hour of ultra-fine solids that needed to be cleaned from the mats and then removed from the wash water continually thru the Diffuser.

• The Diffuser had no problem removing the solids from the liquid portion at 100% efficiency and returning clean wash fluid to the mat washing unit.

• We condensed the solids rapidly by pumping highly concentrated solid/liquid slurry through a small bowl centrifuge from the underflow of the Diffuser. All of this allowed us to process unobstructed throughout the day.

GALLOWAY MAT WASHING RESULTS

• The solids content in the feed systems was 67% wet solids by weight

• 70 % was less than 50 microns

• 30 % was less than 2 microns

• It was essentially a silt and clay mixture of pure ultra-fines

• The clean return had almost no solids contents what so ever, from 1.002 to 1.004, 39mg/l

• We accomplished this at up to 2000kg per hour of solids generated in 100 cubic meters of wash water on a continuous basis for 10 hours of operation per day.

• No other system was able to do this

• The client had never operated more than 2 hours per day prior to using the Diffuser and stated they simply could not operate at all without the Diffuser Technology.
