    FOREWORD EDITORIAL

    AN ISLAND OF CONTROLLED GROWTHTOWARDS THE TOP-LEAGUE OF YARDS

    Dear Colleagues,

    During the last 2-3 years our yard has been through a process of

    adjusting to the new harsh market conditions, which after 5-6 years

    of recession show few signs of improvement. Shipping in general

    is still suffering from slow growth and overcapacity in most major

    sectors and the shipbuilding industry is even worse off, especially

    for yards producing big cargo vessels. These yards are now alsogoing for smaller projects like we produce here in Galati resulting

    in increased competition.

    We have addressed this challenge in several ways. First we realized

    that we have to focus on more specialized vessels in order to have

    a chance to attract orders. Secondly we aimed for turn-key projects

    with full completion at DSGa, no matter the effort required, and

    finally, we put strong focus on the basics of our industry: increased

    education and training of our people, professional high quality

    work, delivery in time, client satisfaction and not the least: strict

    cost control. This was combined with the strategic goal of

    Controlled Growth in order to bring our business back to

    healthy levels.

    After years of hard work within both the Yard and among our

    co-makers we now start to see the realization of that goal: steady

    improvements financially DSGa is now again debt-free with a

    safe positive result as well as productivity and quality-wise in the

    last years. However, around us nothing has changed; we are as

    one of a few islands of a sustainable controlled growth in a very

    turbulent sea of shipbuilding. With an order book reaching now

    more than a year ahead we have proven that it ispossible to

    maintain a healthy yard in these times, but, there is little time to

    rest on the laurels. Our island must be maintained and expanded

    and we still have several issues that need addressing: next leap in

    productivity, improved control of co-maker works and outfitting

    not the least the paint activities, enhanced finish awarenessand continued improvements in commissioning, all this while

    investing in the future and at the same time maintaining strict

    cost control.

    Together we have achieved good results and I encourage you

    to spend a l ittle time appreciating and celebrate our results

    with colleagues.

    Thereafter we will continue the work towards the next goal:

    expand our position into high-end shipbuilding and make the next

    moves towards entering into the real top-league of yards.

    I maintain strong belief that we can do just that.

    O INSULA A CRESTERII CONTROLATECATRE CLASAMENTUL DE TOP AL SANTIERELOR NAVALE

    Stimai colegi,

    n ultimii 2-3 ani, antierul nostru a parcurs un proces de ajustare la noile condiii

    severe de pia care, dup 5-6 ani de recesiune, prezint cteva semne de

    ameliorare. Domeniul maritim n general, sufer nca din pricina creterii

    greoaie i a excesului de capacitate n aproape toate sectoarele principale, iar

    industria construciilor navale se afl ntr-o situaie chiar mai dificil, n special

    acele antiere care construiesc cargouri mari. Aceste antiere se orienteazacum ctre proiecte mai mici cum sunt cele realizate aici n Galati, ceea ce

    conduce la o cretere a concurenei.

    Noi am ncercat s facem fa acestei provocri n mai multe feluri. Mai nti,

    am neles c trebuie s ne axm pe nave mai specializate pentru a avea anse

    s atragem comenzi. n al doilea rnd, ne-am concentrat pe proiecte la cheie,

    cu finalizare complet n cadrul SNDG, indiferent de eforturile necesare i n

    final, am pus accent pe principiile de baz din industria noastr: creterea

    pregtirii profesionale i instruirea angajailor, executarea de lucrri cu un grad

    ridicat de calitate, livrarea la termen, satisfacia clientului i nu n ultimul rnd:

    un control strict al costurilor. Acestea au fost combinate cu obiectivul nostru

    strategic de Cretere Controlat pentru a readuce activitatea la cote pozitive.

    Dup ani de munc susinut, att n antier ct i n rndul subcontractorilor,

    ncepem acum s vedem realizarea obiectivului nostru: creteri economice

    constante SNDG nu are n prezent datorii i nregistreaz un rezultat financiar

    pozitiv sigur precum i n termeni privind productivitatea i calitatea din

    ultimii ani. Totui, n jurul nostru nimic nu s-a schimbat; noi suntem doar una

    dintre puinele insule cu o cretere controlat durabil ntr-o mare turbulent

    care caracterizeaza construciile navale. Avnd un portofoliu care acoper

    capacitatea noastr de ncrcare pentru mai mult de un an de-acum ncolo, am

    dovedit ca este posibil s avem un antier prosper n aceste vremuri, ns

    timpul nu ne permite s ne culcm pe laurii victoriei. Insula noastr trebuie

    meninut i extins iar noi nc avem numeroase probleme care trebuie

    rezolvate: pasul urmtor legat de productivitate, perfecionarea controlului la

    nivelul lucrrilor executate de subcontractori i a celor de saturare nu n

    ultimul rnd activitile de vopsitorie, contientizarea ntr-o mai mare msurasupra finalizrii produsului i continuarea mbuntirilor pe partea de

    commissioning toate acestea odat cu investiii viitoare i n acelai timp

    meninerea unui control strict asupra costurilor.

    mult timp pentru a aprecia i srbtori rezultatele noastre mpreun cu

    colegii. Prin urmare, ne vom continua eforturile pentru atingerea urmtorului

    obiectiv: obinerea unei poziii de vrf pe pia i implementarea urmtorilor

    pai ctre dobndirea unuia dintre primele locuri n clasamentul de top a

    antierelor navale.

    SHIPBUILDERS DAY DE ZIUA NAVALISTILOR

    SARBATOARE CU VOIE BUNASI CONCURSURI

    n acest an, potrivit tradiiei, navalitii i-au srbtorit ziua pe 10 august, n

    parcarea antierului. Programul artistic a fost susinut de formaia Faimoii, jocul

    i voia bun fiind molipsitoare. Nu au lipsit micii, berea, dar i concursurile

    atracia srbtorii. Ctigtorii unuia dintre ele, concursul de biciclete, navaliti

    care au dovedit c au i condiie fizic dar i dorina de a obine performan n

    orice domeniu, sunt:

    n Prvu Victor, secia 1A Montaj Locul I

    n Rou Marian, secia 1A Montaj Locul al II-lea

    n Mihalache Adrian, secia Tubulatur Locul al III-lea.

    Nici copiii angajailor nu au fost uitai. Pentru ei s-a organizat un concurs de

    desene pe asfalt, intitulat VREAU S FIU NAVALIST. Micuii au fost foarte

    ncntai i creativi pe tema aleas. Ctigtorul a fost Marius Eni, n vrst de

    9 ani. La sfrit, toi copiii au primit ngheat. Dac i ntrebm pe ei, sigur i-ar

    dori s fie mai des Ziua Navalitilor, nu doar o dat pe an!

    A CELEBRATION IN GOOD CHEER AND CONTESTS

    This year, according to tradition, shipbuilders celebrated their anniversary on

    10-th of August, in the main parking area. The artistic program was provided by

    Faimosii band, dancing and good-will being contagious. Everybody enjoyed

    Romanian grilled meat balls and beer in abundance but the contests were

    the attraction of the day. The winners of one of them, the bicycle contest,

    shipbuilders showing they have both physical condition and desire to perform

    in any field, are:

    n 1st place: Prvu Victor, assembly workshop, hull building division 1An 2nd place: Rosu Marian, assembly workshop, hull building division 1A

    n 3rd place: Mihalache Adrian, piping workshop .

    Employees children have been not forgotten. For them we organized a street

    drawing contest named I WANT TO BECOME A SHIPBUILDER. The little

    children were very excited and creative on the chosen theme. The winner was

    Marius Eni, 9 years old.

    After the contest all children received ice cream. If you ask them, they would

    definitely wish to organize the Shipbuilders Day more often, not only once a

    year!

    Continum seria fotografiilor ctigtoare din cadrul concursului lansat

    n luna octombrie a anului trecut. Ne bucur c numrul participanilor

    este n cretere i c muli dintre cei nscrii ne trimit imagini din ce in

    ce mai interesante.

    Ctigtorul concursului din luna iulie este Drago Coma. n luna

    august, ctigtor a fost desemnat Ctlin Iulian Moise iar septembrie

    a adus n prim plan o fotografie a lui Romeo Margina. Ct despre

    ctigtorul lunii octombrie, acesta este Stefan Mihalcea.

    PROFESSIONALS ON MANY LEVELS

    We continue to present the series of winning photos from the

    contest we launched in October last year. We are pleased that

    the number of participants is increasing and many of them send

    us more and more interesting photos.

    The winner of July contest is DragosComsa. In August, the

    winner was CatalinIulian Moise and September brought RomeoMargina in the spot. As for October, the winning photo belongs

    to Stefan Mihalcea.

    As from July we adopted a new voting system of the participating

    photos. They are posted on our facebook page

    winner is decided subject to the number of likes.

    tenologice sau altor operaiuni desfurate n seciile de producie.

    Aceste propuneri sunt naintate unei comisii care le analizeaz i apoi

    decide dac ele pot fi sau nu aplicate n practic. Cele care suntacceptate primesc i un premiu de 50 RON, lucru deja cunoscut de

    salariai. n cazul n care aceste propuneri au o contribuie real i

    rezultate pe msura ateptrilor, dintre ele sunt desemnate QIF-ul lunii

    i, respectiv, QIF-ul anului, fiind recompensate corespunztor.

    Anul acesta, s-au nregistrat pn n prezent 17 propuneri, din care 11

    au fost acceptate i vor fi puse n aplicare. Paleta propunerilor este vast,

    de la dispozitive de msurare a adncimii defectelor de suprafa sau de

    fixare a vinciurilor de ancor, pn la modaliti de construire a schelelor

    exterioare la nav sau a unor maini de sudur mobile.

    Punerea lor n practic nseamn, de fapt, economii importante de

    materiale i timp, pentru c aceste propuneri vin direct de la cei care

    lucreaz cu astfel de echipamente/proceduri i neleg foarte bine cum

    funcioneaz acestea. Printre salariaii ale cror propuneri au fost

    acceptate ca i QIF n 2013 se numr:

    GOOD IDEAS ARE REWARDED

    Quality Improvement Form is widespread and used by Damen

    Shipyards Galati employees who want to come up with proposals

    for improving either quality or technological processes or other

    operations performed in the production departments.

    Such proposals are submitted to a commission which analyze

    them, then decide if they can be or not applied in practice. Those

    accepted are also rewarded with 50 RON, fact already known by

    our employees. In case these proposals have a real contributionand results according to expectations, QIF of the month and

    respectively, QIF of the year are selected and rewarded

    accordingly.

    This year 17 proposals have been recorded until now out of

    which 11 have been accepted and will be applied. The range of

    proposals is vast, from devices for measuring the depth of surface

    defects or fastening anchor winches up to modalities to build

    outside scaffolding on the vessel or certain mobile welding

    machines.

    Applying them in practice means in fact important material and

    time savings because these proposals came directly from those

    who work with such equipment/procedures and understand very

    well their functioning. Some of our employees whose proposals

    have been accepted as QIF in 2013 are:

    LIvrarea NaveI SIGrID

    La sfritul lunii octombrie, a avut loc livrarea navei Sigrid, ctre

    Compania Suedez de Management al Deeurilor Nucleare (SKB).

    Destinaia principal a navei o constituie transportul reziduurilor nuclearede la centralele nucleare suedeze ctre depozitele SKB din Oskarshamn

    i Forsmark. Nava poate transporta pn la 12 containere cu reziduuri

    nucleare, dar i containere convenionale pentru mrfuri sau transportoare

    speciale. La prima vedere, nava nu difer prea mult de o nav cargou

    sau portcontainer uzual construite n antier. Speciale sunt, ns,

    sistemele de detecie i cele de protecie mpotriva radiaiilor precum i

    tot ceea ce nseamn sisteme de siguran i de securitate mpotriva

    accesului neautorizat pe nav, declar Cristian Patriche, ef proiect,

    adugnd: Ca o prim provocare pentru noi a fost turnarea betonului

    pe nav. Avnd o compoziie special, recomandat n vederea filtrrii

    radiaiilor gamma i cu neutroni, prepararea i livrarea acestui beton,

    corelat i cu perioada n care s-au fcut turnrile, a reprezentat o activitate

    contra cronometru i anevoioas pentru personalul din producie. O altlucrare atipic a fost construirea capacelor ponton ale magaziei de marf,

    ceea ce a necesitat ntreaga atenie i ndemnare, att a muncitorilor,

    ct i a personalului tehnic, referitor la tehnicile de sudare, astfel nct la

    sfritul procesului s obinem un produs care se ncadreaz n cerinele

    societii de clasificare i ale clientului navei.

    DELIVERY OF SIGRIDAt the end of October, we delivered the Nuclear Cargo Vessel

    Sigrid to the Swedish Nuclear Waste Management Company

    SKB. The vessels main destination is transport of nuclear waste

    from Swedish nuclear power plants to SKBs facilities in

    Oskarshamn and Forsmark. The vessel can transport up to

    12 nuclear waste containers but also standard cargo containers

    or special trucks.

    At first sight, the vessel is not so different from a regular cargo

    vessel or port-container built in our shipyard. What makes itspecial are the detection systems and those for protection against

    radiations as well as all systems for safety and security against

    unauthorized access on board the vessel, states Cristian Patriche,

    project manager, adding: One of the first challenges for us was

    casting of concrete on the vessel. With a special composition

    recommended for filtering of gamma and neutron radiations,

    preparation and delivery of such concrete, correlated with casting

    period, represented an against-the-clock task also very difficult

    for the production staff.

    Another uncommon activity was to build the pontoon covers for

    the cargo hold which required our full attention and skills, both

    of workers and technical staff, referring to the welding techniques,

    so that by the end of process to obtain a product complying with

    the requirements of the classification society and client.

    WORLD SAPPHIRE ENDS THE SERIES OF PSV-S BUILTFOR WWSThe sixth and last from the series of platform supply vessels

    built for the Norwegian company World Wide Supply has beenlaunched on 14th of August at Damen Shipyards Galati. After

    World Pearl (28th of March), World Emerald (15th of May)

    and World Opal (28th of June) it came the turn for World

    Sapphire.

    At the launching ceremony Mr. Jostein Strenes, CEO of World

    Wide Supply AS, said: In November 2010 I had the pleasure to

    visit this shipyard for the first time and I admit both me and my

    colleague Steinar Kulen were very impressed. We came back home

    and together with our experts and the extraordinary team of

    Damen engineers and designers started to develop the project

    called Damen PSV 3300 CD which includes a series of state-of-

    the-art platform supply vessels capable to operate in almost any

    area in the world. I also had the pleasure to visit these wonderful

    ladies in yellow and fell very proud to say in front of you that

    such yellow PSV-s belongs to us. In your turn, you should be also

    proud of these vessels which you built together with Remy

    Management team. The result is extraordinary and of first class.

    Cea de-a asea i ultima din seria navelor de aprovizionare a platformelor

    marine, de tip PSV, construite pentru compania norvegian World wideSupply, s-a lansat pe 14 august, la antierul Naval Damen Galai. Dup

    World Pearl (pe 28 martie), World Emerald (pe 15 mai) i World Opal

    (pe 28 iunie), a venit rndul navei World Sapphire.

    La ceremonia lansrii, Dl. Jostein Strenes, CEO of World Wide

    Supply AS, a declarat: n noiembrie 2010 am avut plcerea de a vizita

    acest antier pentru prima dat i recunosc c att eu ct i colegul meu

    Steinar Kulen am fost foarte impresionai. Ne-am ntors acas i,

    mpreun cu experii notri i extraordinara echip de ingineri i

    proiectani din Damen, am nceput s dezvoltm proiectul Damen PSV

    3300 CD, care include o serie de nave de aprovizionare platforme

    maritime moderne, ce pot opera n aproape orice zon din lume. Am

    avut plcerea de a vizita minunatele doamne n galben i recunosc c

    sunt mndru s spun n faa ntregii lumi c aceste PSV-uri galbene sunt

    ale noastre. La rndul dumneavoastr, putei fi de asemenea mndri

    de aceste nave pe care le-ai construit mpreun cu echipa Remy

    Management AS. Rezultatul este extraordinar, de prim clas.

    SHIPBUILDERS PORTRAIT CLAUDIA CARP

    Claudia Carp este, de ase ani, sudor-tubulator la secia Tubulatur a

    antierului Naval Damen. A absolvit n 1995 Liceul Energetic, profilul

    Limbi moderne. A urmat cursurile clasei de canto-muzic uoar, la

    coala de Art, din cadrul Centrului Cultural Dunrea de Jos, subndrumarea profesoarei Margareta Kiss. Apoi a fost, timp de patru ani,

    actri n compania particular de teatru Trianon. Pn acum ase ani

    nu tia nimic despre tehnologia sudrii, iar astzi se numr printre cei

    M-am acomodat destul de greu, pentru c eu habar nu aveam unde

    vin, i ncepe Claudia povestea. Aveam 31 de ani cnd am aflat c

    se fac angajri n antierul Naval, c se angajeaz i femei, pe post de

    sudorie. Atunci m gndeam ct de mult curaj i trebuie unei femei s

    fac o asemenea meserie. Am dat un interviu, am fost acceptat i astfel

    a nceput o adevrat aventur. Nu m-am ateptat s fie ce este aici: e

    greu, dar e i frumos.

    Lucrez cu un colectiv foarte tnr, suntem aproape 30, iar cei de pe linia

    mea sunt tineri, capabili, competeni i alctuim o echip foarte bine

    nchegat. Suntem foarte buni, ce iese de pe urma noastr este chiar

    art. n argon suntem doar dou sudorie, spune Claudia.

    SUDURA N ARGON ESTE ARTA, AFIRMACLAUDIA CARPARGON WELDING IS ART, SAYS CLAUDIA CARP

    Teoretic, nu este o meserie pentru femei. Practic, ns, Claudia

    demonstreaz c aceasta e doar o prejudecat: Ca femeie, faci fa,

    pentru c dac eti capabil s te concentrezi nu are cum s nu ias bine.

    Suntem i noi la fel de inteligente ca i brbaii, suntem mai atente ladetalii, perfecioniste, rbdtoare, meticuloase. n primul rnd i trebuie

    o foarte mare capacitate de concentrare i mult rbdare. i ia ani s

    nvei s ajungi la un anumit nivel. Aici se cere perfeciune, suntem buni,

    chiar foarte buni n domeniu. n argon se sudeaz tubulatura navei.

    Sudm la presiuni uriae: sunt tot felul de instalaii de CO2, de ulei

    termal, hidraulic. Deja 7 bari e o presiune destul de mare, dar s sudezi

    pentru 450 de bari, spre exemplu, i s in, v dai seama c nu e de

    glum. Se fac foarte multe teste, se dau la control roentgen i orice

    imperfeciune se vede, afirm Claudia.

    Meseria se fur, nu se nva: Am furat cte puin de la unul, de la altul,

    de la toi cei pe care i-am admirat. n plus, mi-am btut foarte mult capul:

    au fost luni n care am visat, noaptea, cum se face, att de mult m

    preocupa acest domeniu. Noi ne difereniem de sudorii n argon din alte

    ri prin viteza mare de lucru i prin precizie. Experiena i spune

    cuvntul. n timp, ne perfecionm. Adevrul este c sudm foarte mult.

    CLAUDIA CARP

    Claudia Carp is welder-pipe fitter at Piping Division of Damen

    Shipyards Galati for six years. In 1995 she graduated from

    Energetic High-school, profile Modern languages. She attended

    cantopopular music courses at the School of Arts of Dunarea

    de Jos Cultural Association, under professor Margareta Kiss

    guidance. Coming four years she was an actress at the theatre

    private company Trianon. Until six years ago, she knew nothing

    about welding technology but today she is one of the best

    argon welders of Damen Galati.

    I have settled in pretty hard because I had no idea where I was

    coming, begins her story Claudia. I was 31 years old when I

    found out that Damen Galati hires new employees and women

    could also apply for as welders. At that time I was thinking how

    much courage does a woman need to practice such job. I was at

    the interview, I was accepted and thus, a real adventure began.

    I didnt expect anything of what I found here: it is difficult but

    beautiful.

    I work in a very young team, we are approximately 30 and those

    on my line are young, capable, competent and we make a very

    strong team together. We are very good, what comes out from

    our hands is indeed art. We are only two welders-women in

    argon, says Claudia.

    In theory, this is not a job for a woman. But practically, Claudia

    proves this is only a prejudice: As a woman, you can cope with,

    because if you are capable to focus its impossible to fail. We are

    as intelligent as men but pay more attention to details, we are

    perfectionist, enduring and meticulous. First, you need high

    focusing capacity and much patience. It takes years to learn

    getting to a certain level. This involves perfection, we are good,

    even very good in the field. The ships piping is argon welded.

    We weld at huge pressures: there are different types of CO,

    thermal oil and hydraulic systems. 7 bars is a pretty high pressure

    enough but to do it at 450 bars, for instance, and welding resists,

    you can imagine this is no joke. Many tests are made followed

    by roentgen control and any imperfection is thus detected,

    states Claudia.

    Job is stolen, not taught: I stole a little from one, from another

    and from all those I admired. Moreover, I was thinking very hard:

    there were months that I dreamed at night how to do it, so much

    was my mind concerned about this job. We are different from the

    argon welders in other country in terms of high working speed

    and precision. Experience says the word. In time, we improveourselves. Truth is that we weld very much.

    The hardest time was in the beginning: First I learned manual

    electrical welding. Then, after a while, I switched to MIG-MAG

    where I proved to be quick-handed. But I was seeing aged

    workers welding in argon and was wondering if I would be able

    to put the wire in electrode without suffering an electric shock,

    remembers Claudia. Her professional satisfactions are obtained

    when she is gets the work well done: When I look inside the pipe

    and see the ring-type penetration, I am very happy. Whenever I

    see its art well yes, then I can say I am fully satisfied. I continually

    self-improve myself and all the time I want to be better. It depends

    in life as you set, no matter what you do: if you start from the

    idea that you cannot do something, that its not for you, then of

    course you cannot succeed. But if you do things with love and

    passion, then for sure they will work out.

    As an actress, Claudia learned that a teams value is given by the

    cohesion between its members. She currently applies this in the

    team she is part of: Damen is, in my opinion, the most serious

    company, with very competent and special people, says Claudia

    Carp, who qualified two time at the national phase of the Health

    and Safety contest where she won in 2012 the I-st prize at giving

    first aid and this year, in April, the second Mention at the individual

    health and safety contest.

    Dar vedeam muncitori vechi care sudau n argon i m ntrebam dac

    eu sunt n stare s pun srma n electrod fr s m electrocutez, iamintete Claudia. Satisfaciile sale profesionale sunt cnd are

    mulumirea lucrului bine fcut: Cnd m uit n interiorul evii i vd

    ptrunderea gen verighet am o mare satisfacie. Cnd vd c iese

    art da, atunci pot spune c sunt mulumit. M autoperfecionez

    continuu, tot timpul mi propun s fiu mai bun. Depinde, n via, cum

    te setezi, indiferent ce ai face: dac porneti de la ideea c nu poi s

    faci un lucru, c nu e de tine, nu are cum s-i ias. Dar dac faci

    lucrurile cu drag i cu pasiune, atunci sigur i ies bine.

    Ca actri, Claudia a nvat c valoarea unei echipe este dat de

    coeziunea membrilor ei. n prezent, aplic acest lucru n colectivul din

    care face parte: Damen este, n opinia mea, cea mai serioas companie,

    cu oameni foarte serioi, oameni deosebii, mai spune Claudia Carp,

    care s-a calificat de dou ori la faza naional a Concursului de protecia

    muncii, unde a ctigat, n 2012, Premiul I la acordarea primului ajutor,

    iar anul acesta, n aprilie, Meniunea a doua la concursul individual de

    protecia muncii.

    For the production of furniture, upholstery and insulation

    mattresses Helmers has two production facilities, one in the

    Netherlands and one in Romania. Both are built up based on

    CNC controlled machinery. Logistical support between the two

    CONCURSUL DE PROTECTIA MUNCIIDUMITRACHE PETRESCU LOCUL I

    Mari, 22 Octombrie, a fost o zi mai lung dect de obicei pentru salariaii dinantierul Naval Damen Galai care au participat la Concursul de Protecie a

    Muncii. Dup programul de lucru, ncepnd cu ora 16,00, n sala de mese din

    cadrul seciei Tubulatur, concurenii i-au ocupat locurile pentru a atepta cu

    nerbdare i cu inevitabile emoii formularele cu ntrebri pe teme de sntate i

    securitate n munc, selectate din legislaia n vigoare adresat construciilor de

    maini.

    Dup cele 60 de minute alocate rezolvrii celor 60 de ntrebri din chestionar,

    emoiile concurenilor au persistat, n ateptarea rezultatelor finale, pn cnd

    reprezentanii SSM au punctat lucrrile. Potrivit rezultatelor obinute,

    clasamentul este urmtorul:

    Locul 1 - Petrescu Dumitrache (secia Mecanic);

    Locul 2 - Cluian Iordana (secia 1B lcturie);

    Locul 3 - Diaconu Lucian Solomon (secia Tubulatur);

    Meniune - Rogoza Daniel (secia 1B lcturie).

    Cei patru salariai vor reprezenta antierul Naval Damen Galai la Concursul

    Naional pe teme de Sntate i Securitate n Munc din luna noiembrie, de la

    Vatra Dornei. Le urm noroc, spernd c vor reprezenta cu succes antierul

    glean i se vor situa pe locuri fruntae.

    THE SAFETY & HEALTH CONTESTDUMITRACHE PETRESCU I-ST PLACE

    Tuesday, October 22-nd, has been a day longer than usual for the

    employees of Damen Shipyards Galati who participated to the Health &

    Safety Contest. After the working hours, as from 16,00 hrs., the

    attendants took their seats in the Piping Division lunchroom waiting

    impatiently and inevitably excited the printed forms containing questions

    related to health and safety, carefully selected from the legislation in force

    applicable to mechanical engineering .

    After the 60 minutes assigned for answering the 60 items of thequestionnaire, participants excitement still persisted in expectation of

    the final results, until the HSE representatives scored the papers.

    According to results, classification was:

    1-st place Petrescu Dumitrache (mechanical production facility);

    2-nd place Caluian Iordana (steel outfitting facility 1B);

    3-rs place Diaconu Lucian Solomon (piping production facility);

    Mention Rogoza Daniel (steel outfitting facility 1B).

    The four employees will represent Damen Shipyards Galati at the

    National Health & Safety Contest to be held in November at Vatra

    Dornei. We wish them good luck and hope they will successfully represent

    our shipyard and place on top spots.
