A Message from the President

I hope you are all having a great summer and as usual thank youfor your efforts and performance. Although the competition isconsiderable, we continue to renew customer contracts and winnew ones!

Performance. Appearance. Communications. Safety (PACS). ForG4S Officers, these four aspects of your job are likely to be themost critical for a variety of reasons. The first three are for you, meand the customer. The last one, safety, is for you, your kids, yoursignificant other, your parents and the list goes on.... We want youto go home at the end of your shift exactly the way you came in foryour shift!

Now, I know we all have bad days. We often deal with people inchallenging environments, continually tell people “no,” or they “can’tdo something.” I know it’s difficult. But when you accomplish thesetasks with style, substance and showcase your training – you canmake it a positive experience and possibly a game-changer.Customers and clients will notice you and your actions can becomethe building blocks for recognition, opportunity and careeradvancement.

Each year, I hear of instances where G4S teams are so committedto “over performance” that our clients will suggest pay increasesfor our hardworking Security Officers. So remember, if ourcustomer doesn’t know your name or if they have nevercomplimented your service or appearance, we simply haven'tadded any value to their business beyond what we werecontracted to do. It's a fair question to ask: Why would they wantto pay more for the same service? I am not suggesting that this isyour sole responsibility. It’s something we work for daily asmanagers and we need your help.

I ask that you think about how you can make a difference to meetor exceed our customer expectations. Looking sharp is free. Properuniform maintenance is free. A sharp, well-dressed G4S SecurityOfficer with the proper training, mission and presence... ispriceless!

The four actions above are the building blocks for all things goodin our G4S world. What comes with PACS is customer satisfaction, company growth and more dollars for increases and benefits.

Your good performance equals happy G4S customers.

“It's one of those unreal experiences like you hear about on TV, butyou never figure it's going to happen to you,” he said. “I'm just supergrateful she's okay.”

G4S Officer Jewell has helped launch a campaign remindingparents about the dangers of leaving a child in a car – even fora few minutes. Five G4S Communities Now Have Upgraded Lifesaving Capabilities

This lifesaving event has demonstrated the need for other G4Scommunities to upgrade their paramedic equipment with ahospital-grade AED. In the weeks after Marty’s recovery, fiveother communities now have a LIFEPAK®15 monitor/defibrillatoras part of their G4S paramedic services. The LIFEPAK®15 is themost powerful AED available to emergency responders.

When Marty Fiel collapsed, bystanders immediately tried to usea wall-mounted AED to save his life, but it was not strong enoughto restart his heart. In fact, doctors told Fiel’s family that his lifewas saved only because the G4S paramedic used the powerfulLIFEPAK®15 within minutes of the life threatening event.

“We are pleased that our partnerships with these communitiesinclude the high-level, lifesaving capabilities for our G4Sparamedics,” said Frank Hernandez, G4S General Manager,Boca Raton, Florida. It truly makes our emergency responsecommensurate with municipal EMS crews, providing increasedcapabilities for residents.”
