    ScienceScienceScienceSciencePlease revise the following selection of topics covered in the sciencebooks.

    Please note that were testing the childrens oral comprehension of

    the key words and concepts, not their reading or spelling abilities. Theformat will be that we will read aloud a question to the children andthey will then have to select an answer from a choice of three whichwill also be read aloud to them.

    There will also be some questions where students have to write freeresponse answers. These will be short answers and the students wontlose marks for incorrect spelling.

    To revise, we suggest that you check your child understands:

    1) The meaning of the words that you find highlighted in yellow inthe colour textbook lessons;

    2) The meaning of the words found in boxes in the workbookexercises.

    3) He should also be able to orally answer the questions found inthe lesson checkpoints located at the end (and sometimes inthe middle) of each lesson in the textbook.

    The glossary at the back of the colour science reader providesadditional definitions of keywords and may also be referred to. You

    can use this in conjunction with the words you find highlighted in thetexts for additional word definitions.

    In the For A Better World books again it is the colour text book that isof more use. Some of the key terms are highlighted within thechapters.

    Some questions in the exam will have multiple choice answers. Somequestions will be matching terms to definitions. Some require thestudent to complete the missing word from sentences. There we willalso be some questions where students have to write free responseanswers. These will be short answers and the students wont lose marksfor incorrect spelling.
