Completed seminary in 1871. Returned to Germany to work with Wundt. Offered position at Harvard and chance to study with James. 1878 -- First American Ph.D. in Psychology – Harvard – under James and Bowditch. 1878 – 1880 Back in Germany with Wundt. 1881 – 1889 From 1882, was Professor at Johns Hopkins University (new) 1889 - 1920 A founder and President of Clark University 1892 First President of the American Psychological Association
