About EEE:

The Department of EEE

at G. Pulla Reddy Engineer-

ing College (Autonomous)

was established in 1994 with

an intake of 60. The intake

was increased to 120 from

2008 and is affiliated to Jawa-

harlal Nehru Technological

University, Anantapur, Anan-

thapuramu.

The Department aims at

imparting high quality techni-

cal education in the area of

Electrical and Electronics

Engineering and is affiliated

to Jawaharlal Nehru Techno-

logical University, Anantapur.

Apart from an under graduate

course, the Department has

also been offering since 2004,

one Post Graduate Program

with specialization in Power

Electronics with an intake of

18. The Department seeks to

shape its graduates into criti-

cal, original and independent

thinkers sufficiently equipped

with the necessary tools to

venture out into the practical

world with professional com-

petency, who can add to the

body of scientific knowledge.

It was accredited by NBA

thrice, first in the year 2005,

then again in 2008 and in De-

cember 2013 as per new

changes in NBA. Also the

department is recognized as

Research centre by JNT

Univeristy Ananthapur and

full time PhD course is of-

fered from 2013-2014 aca-

demic years onwards.

The department has a

strong pool of faculty with 12

Ph.D.’s and 17 M.Tech’s. It

boasts of having highly quali-

Volume 4 July 2017

Department of EEE,GPREC, Kurnool organized a Three Day workshop on ―Ni my RIO Hardware‖ during

29th-31st August 2016 . The GPREC faculty attended this workshop.

A one day Faculty development programme (FDP) on ―eTap Software‖ was conducted for GPREC faculty

with power systems specialization on 28th December 2016.

In order to enhance the research and development activities in wide areas, the department of EEE of our col-

lege identified IoT as one area where there is an ample of scope for the R&D, the Department took initiation

in organizing a one day workshop on ―Whyzbee-IoT Applications‖ as a part of IEEE IAS students’ chapter of

GPREC on 10th February and 25th March 2017 in association with Red Pine Signals Company, Hyderabad.

The Lab View Academy of the department provided hands-on training for the students who registered during

the year 2016-17.

involvement in IEEE at GPREC. It achieved 14th position across the world in IEEE and 5th place across

the Regio10 Asia Pacific countries and received an amount of 361 $US for its outstanding performance

in High Performance Student Branch Chapters Competition 2016.

Student Achievements in IEEE

The student chair of GPREC IEEE SB Ms Suraiah Thaseen is very efficient in organizing and conducting

events at GPREC and always aim for the benefit of student community. She is very much passionate about

IEEE. Her major achievements are Received financial support from IEEE Hyd in attending R10 congress

based on her activeness in IEEE Hyd section. She was one of the Ambassadors of IEEE Xtreme 10. 0 pro-

gramming competition and IEEE Day 2016.She was selected as IEEE Young professional activities Represen-

tative for Hyderabad Section for the year 2016.

Mr M.C. Hitesh, Mr Leela Sai Bharadwaj of 2013 batch and their team are very much instrumental in

achieving 14th position under HPSBC Awards 2016 of IEEE PES chapter.

Ms Farhath Tasleem and Ms Vijayalakshmi of 2014 batch were selected as volunteers for Hyderabad Sec-

tion for the year 2016.
