The Department of EEE at G.
Pulla Reddy Engineering Col-
lege (Autonomous) was estab-
lished in 1994 with an intake
of 60.

to Jawaharlal Nehru Techno-
logical University, Anantapur.
Apart from an under graduate
course, the Department has
also been offering since 2004,
one Post Graduate Program
with specialization in Power
Electronics with an intake of
18. The Department seeks to
shape its graduates into criti-
cal, original and independent
thinkers sufficiently equipped
with the necessary tools to
venture out into the practical
world with professional com-
petency, who can add to the
body of scientific knowledge.
It was accredited by NBA
thrice, first in the year 2005,
then again in 2008 and re-
cently reaccredited in Decem-
ber 2013 as per new changes
in NBA. Also the depart-
ment is recognized as Re-
search centre by JNT Univer-
isty Ananthapur and full time
PhD course is offered from
2013-2014 academic years
onwards.
The department has a
strong pool of faculty with 7
Ph.D.’s and 21 M.Tech’s. It
boasts of having highly quali-
fied faculty with an unparal-
leled level of expertise in their
respective fields. The sheer
expertise and dedication of
the faculty members along
with infrastructural facilities
coupled with perseverance of
the students have catapulted
the branch to the top league.
The Department is offering
one Post Graduate Program
with the specialization in
Power Electronics with an
intake of 18. Active research
is going on in the areas of
Power Systems, Power Elec-

Students’ Achievements:
A Two Day Student Level Event was organized in the name of “JIGNASA”
from 22nd to 23rd December 2014, in G Pulla Reddy Engineering College
(Autonomous),Kurnool. During this event the Dept of EEE made the events un-
der title “Sanketha”, Through which Symposium, Technical Quiz, Robo Mania
and Poster Presentations were conducted.
On the occasion of thirty years of celebrations G. Pulla Reddy Engineering col-
lege has conducted KALANJALI, A Cultural Intercollegiate Festival under
“THRIMSHATHI” from 22nd to 24th of December 2014 and more than 175 stu-
dents from various Autonomous colleges have participated in various cultural
event
On the occasion of thirty years of celebrations G. Pulla Reddy Engineering
college has conducted CHAMPS, A Sports Fest under THRIMSHATHI from
22nd to 24th of December and more than 512 students from various Autono-
mous colleges have participated in 6 games.

Training Program on Literary events, debate, Dance and music Instrumental Play for exclusive I B.Tech
E.E.E. Students is organized during 9th September 2014 to 13th September 2014.
For Spoken tutorial workshop/training a total of 297 students were trained during the academic year 2014-
15, and a total of 180 students were registered for online certification courses offered by NPTEL during the
same academic year.

IEEE WIE AG ACTIVITIES:
The department initiated to establish IEEE student branch and was
inaugurated on 19th July 2014 by Dr M Lakshminarayna, Vice Chair
of IEEE Hyderabad section.
The department initiated to establish IEEE Power & Energy Society
(PES) students chapter and WIE Affinity Group (AG) and were in-
augurated on 3rd September 2014 by Dr Balasubramanyam, the then
Chair of IEEE PES/PELS/IAS Joint Chapter of IEEE Hyderabad
Section and Dr Arni Swarna Bai, Chair of IEEE WIE AG IEEE Hyd
Section.
The IEEE student branch of the college has organized few events on
7th October 2014 on the account of IEEE Day. The activities started
from morning in EEE and ECE departments of our college.
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering department has organ-
ized an event called “ELECTRICAL QUEST”. There was gigantic
response from the students. Nearly 66 students have participated in
the event i.e. 22 teams. This contest lasts long continuously for 3
days.
IEEE WIE AG of GPREC organized a Two Day Workshop on
“Young Women Engineer as Nation Builder” during 3rd and 4th Jan
2015. During this workshop,Dr. N.V. Rao, Ex-chair of IEEE Hyd
section, Chief Guest of this workshopdelivered inaugural address on
the strengths of women and their role in the society as well as for the
development of a nation.Dr. Dakshina Murthy, President, Interna-
tional School of Engineering delivered a talk on Establishing Ca-
reers in Niche Areas.Ms. Sujatha Dedi, Full Time Worker, Vivekan-
anda Kendra, Kanyakumaridelivered a talk on Young Women Engi-
neer as a Nation Builder during the session. Sri. L. Adhitya, Enter-
prenuer, Conduira Education and Training Services Pvt. Ltd, spoke
on Resume writing and Soft Skills and also shared interview tips.
Sri. Madhav Negi, Associate Director, Computer Science Corpora-
tion and Sri Sudharshan Chakrapani, Vice President, Head of the
Brand and Customer Experience management, delivered a lecture on
Geeta, B.Tech, Entreprenuer.

IEEE WIE AG along with Women’s cell celebrated International
Women’s Day on 10th March 2015 in Seminar Gallery-2. The pro-
gramme started at 3.30pm with the lighting of lamp by the Chief
Guest Dr.Y. Radhika MD, DGO, a medical practitioner along with
Director Dr. P. Jayarami Reddy and Principal Dr. B. Sreenivas
Reddy.

IEEE Emerging Branch Award: Within a short duration of inception of IEEE SB at GPREC, it re-
ceived Emerging Branch award for its activeness, strength of members and number of activities con-
ducted for the year 2014 IEEE Hyderabad Section during Students’ Section Congress.

IEEE PES Student Chapter Activities:
Co-curricular pursuits apart from curriculum are essential to the educational programme which strengthens
student inherent talents. In view of this, our college has established an IEEE Student Branch in the college
premises during 19th July 2014. In continuation, the department of EEE has decided to start Power and Energy
society (PES) chapter. At present, our PES strength is having 87 student members and 2 IEEE members
(Faculty). The inaugural function of our PES chapter was held on 3rd September, 2014.
For the inaugural function, Dr. R. Balasubramanian, Professor of EEE department, G.Narayanamma Institute
of Technology and Science and also Chairman for IEEE PES/IAS/PELS was invited as Chief Guest, and Dr.
A. Swarna Bai, Chairman of IEEE Hyd WIE Section was invited as Guest of Honour.

As a part of IEEE PES chapter activity, a guest lecture by Chief Guest on “Planning and Operation of power
system with Wind integration”, Poster presentation on “SMART GRID” theme and “T” Extempore were con-

On the account of the 224th birthday of a well known scientist
Michael Faraday, we have organized a Guest Lecture on
22/09/2014 at 3:30 pm about “Transmission Lines” by Sri
G.SreeRam Kumar (TL&SS AP Transco) Kurnool.
In view of Michael Faraday (Father of Electricity) birthday the
PES chapter of ourcollege conducted an essay writing competi-
tion on 22/09/2014 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. The purpose of
this event is to improve the technical writing skills of students
and to enhance the students’ minds with the knowledge on the
given topic.
The IEEE student branch of the college has organized few

IEI EEE students’ Chapter was inaugurated on 28-07-2014. Sri P.V. Pavan Kumar, General Manager
(Technical), Servo Max India Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest at Inaugural function.

the chapter has also conducted various competitions

Dept of Electrical and Electronics Engineering,
G.Pulla Reddy Engineering College, Kurnool organ-
ized a Guest Lecture on “Solar Power” by Sri M. Kon-
danda Rama Murthy, Executive Engineering, NRED-
CAP, KURNOOL on 04/05/2015.
Paper Presentations (PPTs) on Advanced Technologies was conducted for students on 23-08-2014. A total
of 10 students participated.
A Debate event was conducted on “Globalization versus Environmental protection” during 2nd Septem-
ber 2014. A total of 19 students from II to IV B.Tech participated in this event.
An awareness programme on Electrical Machines and hands on Experience on Machine Tools were con-
ducted for students of I EEE during 11th October 2014 and a total of 60 students participated in this event.
A Guest Lecture on “Project Management and Research Techniques” was conducted on 29-12-2014 for IV
B.Tech EEE and M.Tech Students.(150 students were present)

EELS: EEE Dept Students’ Association Activities:
MATLAB training by Mr. M. Sai Sriram Kasyap (119X1A0267-IV EEE) to the students of II EEE. The
students were trained both theoretically and practically during the training period.
Photoshop training was provided to the students of III EEE by Sri K. Pradeep Kumar Yadav (Assistant
Professor, EEE Department), to enable the students to put forward their creative ideas in the form of crea-
tive way.
A training session about programming of ARDINO and microcontrollers was conducted to enlighten the
sprouting engineers about the various applications of microcontrollers. The students were guided by N
Mohan (119X1A0269) (IV EEE).
A new innovative idea proposed by the students of III EEE called Know Your Machines was conducted as
a technical activity. The main objective of this event is to improve their knowledge about the electrical ma-
chines like motors, generators etc in a more practical way. This event was conducted under the guidance of
Sri C.Harinatha Reddy (Assistant professor, EEE).
Swach Bharath is an initiative by the Government of India to make India a clean nation. In order to pro-
mote the idea among the students the association has taken an initiative and conducted various activities in
and around the campus of GPREC on 26th September 2014 .The students of the association cleaned the sur-
roundings of the campus and the R.V. Seshacharlu Hospital. The students of II and III EEE took an active
participation in cleaning their campus and also gave awareness to students of GPREC about keeping their

internship programme at Skyfi Labs, Bangalore, during II
Semester of 2014-15 Academic Year.
Ms Lalithya .M of IV EEE have successfully completed in-
ternship programme at Schenider Electrioc Bangalore, during
II Semester of 2014-15 Academic Year.
A group of students of IV EEE have successfully completed
Internship programme at PGP Electronics, Hyderabad, dur-
ing II Semester of 2014-15 Academic Year.
