The last six pieces in Volume 1 are written in the key of G major, which has one sharp, F#. This involves learning a new 2nd finger position next to 1st finger C natural on A string and G natural on E string.

A good way to practise this new note position is to play the G major scale. Listen for the familiar sound of do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, do. Semitones where fingers are placed closely together are marked with

    1st finger new 2nd finger C k (natural )
