ANNUAL PRIESTS’ SEMINAR Monsignor Paul Zimmer and Father John Croal will attend the annual Archdiocese of Toronto Priests’ Seminar this week. They will be away from Monday afternoon, October 21st, until Thursday evening, October 24th. Father Joe Wasik will celebrate Mass in their absence. Please pray for them.
WORLD MISSION COLLECTION TODAY This weekend we take up the annual World Mission Collection. As Catholics, we are reminded of our responsibility to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world in which we live. Our offerings support the concrete efforts of the missionary men and women who go out to the whole world in obedience to the Lord’s command. Thank you for your generosity.
THE COUNT CONTINUES
This weekend we will take an official count of all Mass goers for the Archdiocese of Toronto. The count continues next weekend. These statistics provide a benchmark for Mass attendance throughout the Archdiocese and assist with pastoral planning.

OCTOBER 20, 2019 CONFIRMATION ENROLMENT Registration for our 2019/2020 Confirmation Preparation Programme is now closed. Registered students will celebrate the Rite of Enrolment this weekend at the 9:30 Sunday morning Mass. They present a letter asking to celebrate the Sacrament at Pentecost and Monsignor Zimmer will present them with a wooden cross as a sign of their commitment. Their first preparation class continues in the parish hall after Mass. Please pray for them. FIRST SACRAMENTS CLASSES BEGIN We remind parents with children registered in our First Sacraments Progamme that classes begin on Monday, October 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Please bring your child a few minutes early to register and settle in. Each class ends at 8:00 p.m. No child will be allowed to leave the hall unless picked up by a parent or delegated family member. GIVE US YOUR WOOL AND YARN
Our Thursday evening Yak & Yarn Group is running out of yarn and wool for their projects. See our parish website for pictures of their phenomenal output. They are looking for donations of yarn to assist with their work. If you have something to give you can drop it off at their Thursday evening
meeting or at the parish office any time. INSPIRATIONAL BOOK READING There will a reading of “Caught Between Two Devils” on Thursday, October 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall. The author is a Markland Wood local, Mark Creedon. The book illustrates how his mother-in-law and father-in-law survived internment in a Nazi Work Camp with the help of their Catholic faith. All are welcome. PILGRIMAGE INVITATION Join a pilgrimage group to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. February 10 – 17, 2020. Under the guidance of Father Paul Hanko and our own Deacon Milan Popik. Daily visits to the Basilica
of Guadalupe and visits to many other historical shrines and places of interest. Accomodation at the Hotel Majestic in front of the Presidential Palace and Mexico City Cathedral. For more information, call Deacon Milan (647-968-1141) IT’S A SOCKCESS! We thank all those who have donated brand-new winter socks for the street people of Toronto. Your gifts will be distributed by the St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Felix Centre and Good Shepherd Ministries. Our collection continues throughout the month of October (AKA Socktober). Drop off your donations in the front vestibule of the church before or after Mass or leave them at the office.

Members of the Rosary Apostolate visit classrooms in St. Clement School on a regular basis. They distribute rosaries to the students and teach them how to pray the Rosary and how to meditate on the Mysteries. Parents, you can reinforce their efforts by
praying the Rosary at home with your children. QUEEN OF HEAVEN DVD SERIES We’ve had some trials and tribulations with our projector, but the beat goes on! Join us next Saturday morning for the final presentation of our DVD series “Queen of Heaven”. If there’s anyone out there who understands the workings of Audio-Video equipment, we need your help! COME & SEE Single Catholic men 17 years and older are invited to a Come & See Weekend. St. Augustine’s Seminary. Friday, November 1st (7:00 p.m. start) to Sunday, November 3rd (ends at 1:30 p.m.). (Note: registrants under 17 years old need parental consent). Time for prayer, reflection and information on the process of becoming a Catholic priest. Register online: www.vocationstoronto.ca.
