Summer JazzerKamp Action Guide
Details: Boost revenue! Host a Junior Jazzercise camp for 4-5 days for 2-3 hours per day. Follow the Junior Jazzercise
“Summer JazzerKamp Action Guide” to create a fun, organized atmosphere Feel free to manipulate the format as you see fit for your group Day one should ALWAYS begin with an introduction of the kids yourself and the rules Remember to have fun and a little chaos is okay! Start advertising NOW!
Suggested Dates to Offer: Check out when local schools get out for summer break Offer JazzerKamp Mon-Friday for 2-3 hours per day in a school, recreation center, Jazzercise
Fitness Center or Studio Look at Jazzercise class schedules and see what works best for your facility
Examples:o June 15-19 or June 22-26 from 9 AM-12 PMo June 15-19 or June 22-26 from 1 PM- 4 PM (In between class times)
Anytime during the summer that you feel will work for your community (I.E. beginning of August prior to schools going back in session)
Option: Take one of the theme days listed below and make it into a “date night”
Pricing Look into other camps in your community for pricing structure and price yourself competitively,
this will vary from place to place. Do your research! Include costs of snacks, crafts, equipment and all materials you expect to use during your camp A good range would be $125-$200 per child. This price will vary based on location, time and
costs associated with your camp Offer discounts of 10%-15% off for siblings or if they sign up by a particular cut off day Do a “daily” or “date night rate of $25-$40 per child
Get the Word Out!! Pass out flyers to current customers (Use Junior Jazzercise JazzerKamp Template on the FZ) Post to Social Media sites (Use Social Image available on the FZ)
o Create an event page on Facebooko Share past JazzerKamp photos on social sites
Send out individual e-mails to current and past customers- This is a GREAT way to get sign-ups! Post information about your classes in “Mom” Groups on Facebook and Social Media outlets,
and websites Incentivize parents to share with friends and siblings by giving 10%-15% off for each friend or
sibling they sign up. Set up a contest, whoever refers the most friends wins a FREE camp registration of their choice
JazzerKamp Day 1: So You Think You Can “Move” –Different Ways to Move
Talk about different types of movement and exercise. Discuss how important it is to move EVERYDAY!Time Activity Tips
10 Minutes Collect all RELEASE FORMS!Circle Time: Everyone sits in a circle, introduces themselves and reviews the rules for the JazzerKamp
Use name Tags- have them decorate their own
Have them show their favorite dance move
25 Minutes “Unbreakable”: R5-14 “Salute”: R1-15- Juniors Variation “Baby Don’t Lie”: R5-14- Juniors Variation “Heartbeat Song”: R1-15
Modify the choreography as you need for your group, don’t worry about musical phrasing
15 Minutes Play “Select-o-matic” Game- Talk about their favorite ways to MOVE!

Allow the kids to get on stage if you have one, they LOVE this!
Think dancing, running, jumping, swimming, sports, yoga etc…
5 Minutes “Wrapped Up”: R1-15-Juniors Variation This one will teach them about the importance of moving and wear them out!

End with a stretch- “Thinking Out Loud Each child tells their favorite thing of the
day Ends the day on a positive, happy
point!
JazzerKamp Day 2: Superhero Day
Supply mixed nuts, fruit snacks, coconut, chocolate chips, granola, dried fruit etc.
Dress up as your favorite “Superhero”. This doesn’t just have to mean Wonder Woman and Super Man, but people they look up to or who they’d like to be when they grow up. Be creative and think outside the box!Time Activity Tips
15 Minutes Have each child introduce themselves as their Super Hero “alter-ego” and tell about their favorite super powers. Have a fun one and one that will “do good” for others.
Give them ideas: healing, flying, helping others , Super-Strength

Really emphasize the “muscle poses” in ‘Part A’
Replace the hop-tchs with skips around the room!
20 Minutes Super-Duper Showcase Give the kids the opportunity to show off their Super Outfits
15 Minutes Hula Hoopla- Pause the music randomly! Play “Immortals” By Fallout Boy from the Big Hero 6 Movie Soundtrack

JazzerKamp Day 3: Wacky Wednesday
Dress up in your wackiest duds! Think crazy hair, mis-matched clothes. Tell your kids to be creative!Time Activity Tips
5 Minutes Talk about what makes each person “different” and they’re own person.
Talk about the importance of accepting each other’s differences and being your own unique self!
30 Minutes Do a mix of routines that are slow and then fast. Talk about how “wacky” that feels on your heart and your body
This could be like a mini Interval Fusion Class
Incorporate cardio and strength training
15 Minutes TP- Wrap-up!! This will teach team work and strategy
Break into 2-3 teams, provide 1-2 rolls of toilet paper per team, and instruct them to wrap up everyone in their team on TP, only using the rolls provided
10 Minutes Freestyle Hula: Turn off the lights and give your kids glow sticks!
50 Minutes- Craft & Snack Time: Choose one of each Craft Ideas: Have them draw themselves and write the answer to the following: “I am unique, because…” Creative Monsters- This may require glue, markers, feathers, stickers etc.
Snack Ideas: Choose One! Frozen Fruit Cups Banana Hot Dogs Grape Bugs

JazzerKamp Day 4: Under the Sea
Encourage kids to come dressed as their favorite thing of the sea! Think fish, pirates, sailors, sharks, mermaids.
Time Activity Tips10 Minutes Play “Walk the Plank”- have them walk low, to the
side, or on their tip-toes. This will keep it fresh! Use a thick strip of duct
tape or masking tape as your plank, and take turns walking across it
10 Minutes Play Sea Weed Limbo: Play just like regular limbo! The kids LOVE this game! Tie ribbon or streamers to your limbo pole
15 Minutes Crab Walk Relay Race- Do an entire relay race, with hula hoops and tubes, but the kids must be on the ground
Think walking like a crab, slithering like an eel, crawling like a shrimp!
15 Minutes Play Musical “Islands”-This is played just like “Musical Hoops”

5 Minutes Free Style Hula! Play under the sea like music!
50 Minutes -Craft and Snack Time: Pick One of Each. Use plastic table cloths for easy clean up!Crafts Ideas:Make Your Own Treasure Map:Use constructions paper, sticker, markers, rhinestones, glitter etc… and have the kids create their own map! Talk about what they “treasure” most and remind them that it DOES NOT need to be a thing!Make Your Own Hook: Use red plastic cups and foil

JazzerKamp Day 5: Pay It Forward Day
Use graham crackers, yogurt and fruit snacks
Today’s focus should be on gratitude and giving back!Time Activity Tips
10 Minutes Introduction of the Day: Talk about what “paying it forward” means and what each child would do the next time they get to pay it forward.
Another great exercise to teach about respect and giving back

10 Minutes Red Light, Green Light, Yellow Light… Instructions on FZ
30 Minutes Vote on their 2 favorite routines from the week. These will be the two you showcase in addition to the “Performance Routine” for parent’s today!
50 Minutes -Craft and Snack Time: Pick One of Each. Use plastic table cloths for easy clean up!Crafts Ideas: Homeless Snack Packs: Put together snack bags for the homeless. Each child decorates a brown paper bag and gets to
put in small snack items. Instructor delivers to local homeless shelter. Take a photo while delivering to the shelter! It’s great way to follow up and thank your JazzerKampers!! This also personalizes their “giving back”
Start a Gratitude Journal: Supply them each with small spiral notebooks and encourage them to write down things they are grateful or random acts of kindness they’ve exemplified each day. Allow them to decorate their Gratitude Journal with drawings, stickers, rhinestones etc…
Thank You Notes: Each child writes their parents a Thank You note for allowing them to attend JazzerKampSnack Ideas:Everyone brings their own snack or a small snack to share. It will be like a “Snack Potluck”
25 Minutes Clean up Time!! Streamer Dance: Purchase Streamers Here! Improv exercise- dance however they want across
the floor
Make up a routine using streamers, or have the kids make up their own
Remaining Time Perform for Parents- Thank everyone for coming! Remind them of any upcoming classes or camps and take sign ups!
Have each child give their “Thank You Notes” to parents before performance.
