Sometimes I have to share my backpack with my little brother because we don’t have any food to eat in the house. - Max

Without the Mobile Food Pantry coming

to town, we wouldn’t be able to eat fresh foods.

- George

I’m thankful for the Food Pantry. Money is tight, and without

the pantry, I couldn’t afford to eat.

- Esther

I care for my grandkids. We visit the soup kitchen often. I can’t provide the nourishment they need on my own.- Janice

I never thought I’d be a single dad, but I’m

glad to have a place to turn when the money runs out at

the end of the month.- Nate

You are helping us feed South Dakota.

Last year, our Board of Directors approved the change to a fiscal year ending June 30 to better align with our programs. Looking at last year’s figures, we are overwhelmed with appreciation for the generosity of our partners; people like you, who donated your time, talents, and treasures to the fight against hunger. We ask that you continue to stand firm with us in the fight to eliminate hunger. We need your help. The number of children, adults, and seniors who are missing meals continues to increase each and every day. Hunger knows no season and is a daily struggle for the individuals and families that we serve. Our BackPack Program continues to distribute a record number of weekend food packages to children in the Sioux Empire and Black Hills areas. Our Food Pantries struggle to keep food on the shelves for the number of families and individuals that turn to us for food assistance. Our Mobile Pantry travels to the remote areas of central South Dakota to ensure the many who are hungry in this rural area have food.

This continued growth for the need of our services is why we have been working to increase our capacity over the past year. With your support, our Rapid City location has been operating in their new facility for over a year thanks to a successful campaign. In Pierre and Sioux Falls, our limited space is inhibiting us to serve hungry people effectively. We are working to increase capacity at these two locations through our Hand to Hand capital campaign. Through the generous support of many, we can build for the future to reach all who are hungry in our state.

Together, we can end hunger. Thank you for your continued support.

We thank our many donors and supporters. We would like to recognize those who have made gifts totaling $1,000 or more during 2013-2014. The commitment from numerous foundations, businesses, families, and individuals made it possible for us to provide 10.4 million meals to hungry South Dakota residents.
