Dharmapremi Sushravak & Sushravika,

An exciting opportunity lies before us to build the future that we envision together for our upcoming generations. Our Jain Center was established in 1980 and for the past 36 years we have been fortunate to take dharma-labh from this center in terms of worship, service and education. Now that we have outgrown our current facility this is our chance to expand our Jain Center and pass our rich heritage to our younger generation.

Since 1980 JSMW has grown from a handful of families to one of the leading Jain Communities in North America with a membership of over 650 families. Our Sunday school enrollment has increased from about 15 to over 150 with 9 different classes. Due to its Washington D.C location, the capital of the United States, perhaps political capital of the world, our Jain Center draws the attention of the nations’ religious and elected leaders as well as visitors from around the globe. It has become critical to develop a state of the art Jain Center to host all activities throughout the year. This center will also serve as tourist destination for religious tourism from around the world.

As Jains, you and I believe that all what we have is from our hard work and God’s blessing. Most of us migrated with few dollars and two suitcases. Today with God’s grace and our hard work, we are among the most gifted community. We are being called upon by our future generation to build a new larger Jain Center complex with various needed facilities. In this spirit, I ask you to consider, thoughtfully and prayerfully, how you, your family and friends might participate in this great undertaking.

Our goal is to build an all-inclusive 24,000 sq. ft. Jain Center building connected to a 6,000 sq. ft. temple complex which will be made of marble and fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) material to save construction costs. Our goal is an ambitious one, equaled only by the magnitude of our dreams. May the hopes and aspirations of our Jain community move our hearts to give generously in support of this campaign!

Sincerely,

Dr. Sushil Jain ([email protected]) Chairman, Board of Trustee

According to Jain tradition, land donation for building a religious area is considered one of the most auspicious acts of charity for spiritual growth. Land donation is a great way by which everyone can play a part of the future Temple's development. We have created an opportunity to donate nine sq. ft. (one sq. yard) of the religious area (Temple Complex, Upaashraya and Sthanak) land for $2,501. The temple foundation structure will be laid on top of land donated by you. You can dedicate land in the name of your children, family members and in memory of a loved one. Your land donation will be recognized by a certificate and listed on a prominently displayed location. Building a temple is a once in a lifetime opportunity and this mighty endeavor needs your financial support. Your generosity will help bring this noble cause to completion. With your continued support, we will not only have a place of worship, but also a venue to promote our culture and heritage for generations to come. Note: The Land donation scheme is for recognition purpose only; no legal or physical transaction will be performed. For additional information, please contact Bhupesh Mehta (240-455-4524) or Meenal Zaveri (713-320-6155) or Shilpa Jain (301-528-0785).
