DEVELOPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF BUSINESS TALENT

CONCEPT

As Britain’s second city, Birmingham is enjoying a growing reputation as a leading European Business hub. With a diverse range of sectors, you are part of a thriving business community.

Future Faces has been developed by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce to help businesses support and develop staff who are committed to developing their careers.

We are established as the networking forum for aspiring business people in Birmingham.

EVENTS WE HAVE OVER 25 EVENTS A YEAR!

We have developed a programme of monthly events to combine expert training with networking.

With one social a month and one structured event a month we have the most diverse calendar of events in Birmingham. Our structured events are designed to provide a training and development component mixed with a fun and social side.

Our events include:• Tours of leading businesses such as BBC Studios and sports grounds such as AVFC and BCFC.• Workshops on team building and leadership, career progression, networking skills, social media, sales

and negotiation skills.• Topical events such as HS2 and the impact on our region as well as Q&A sessions with leading business

owners/directors such as Andy Street, the Managing Director of John Lewis.

RECENT EVENT

NINJA NETWORKING

Future Faces kick-started it’s 2015 calendar of events with a Ninja Networking Masterclass at KPMG with expert coach Vinay Parmar . Over 40 young professionals had the chance to learn the key skills needed to enter a room and make the most of the networking opportunities available. Networking is a key skill for career progression and personal development, Vinay confidently talked delegates through the best techniques.

Member Laura Rollason of Edward’s Trust said “the ability to network does not come naturally to all of us, participating in this event placed me out of my comfort zone and built my confidence to develop my network of contacts.”

OUR SOCIALS

Members meet on a monthly basis in an informal environment where they have the opportunity to network, meet other members and make new friends.

The aim of our Socials is to help young professionals develop quality business contacts by providing them with an opportunity to meet in a relaxed and pleasant environment. Ultimately, we would like to think that the connections made will develop and grow along with our careers and last for many years into the future.

Recent Socials have included:

November: Laurent Perrier Champagne Bar December: Revolution BarJanuary: Chung Ying Central

PRESS COVERAGE

At Deutsche Bank we regard our People as our most valuable asset and we are therefore delighted to support the development of young talent from across the Birmingham region through Future Faces. The opportunities the programme provides for them to connect directly with leading businesses will enable them to build their skills, knowledge and confidence, whilst at the same time networking with their peers – the future business leaders of the region. I am confident that Future Faces will be invaluable in helping them to achieve their full potential.

Richard McCarthy, Deutsche Bank Birmingham

The City and the Region is seeking a higher profile these days and the City of the future will only be as good as its leaders, be they in commerce, public service or education. The Future Faces members we have encountered to date have all the enthusiasm and determination that a growing City Region needs and the Future Faces programme helps develop and mentor these qualities.

Brian Hall, BHSF
