Motivation of the FI-PPP Programme
To support projects that accelerate the realisation of “future internet” enabled government, business and society in Europe that will allow:
• Public / business services and infrastructure to operate more intelligently, efficiently and sustainably through tighter integration with internet and computing capabilities
• Experimentation and validation of approaches that connect infrastructure, applications, devices, services and new technologies to deliver innovative new solutions
• Bringing together supply and demand sides for future internet services, engaging research, public service, communications and ICT and end user communities in the process of innovation

Our (key) achievements so far
We have:
• identified and contacted about 400 infrastructures across Europe and beyond
• gathered, analysed, evaluated and organised information from over 160 Future Internet infrastructures / experimental facilities and test beds from across Europe
• developed and launched a “live” web enabled repository ‘XiPi’
• initiated a process to encourage and support interaction, and collaboration between infrastructure (test bed, experimental infrastructure) owners and application developers (primarily Use Case developers)
• conducted an initial analysis of the infrastructure data, towards delivery of an FI roadmap
