The initial role was as a Furniture Designer for both companies but as time went on my role opened up to give me an insight into every aspect of both companies.
Lloyd Loom of Spalding - One of the UK’s most traditional and recognised brands in the furniture industry
-Worked on indoor, outdoor and upholstered furniture design briefs-Product development with a number of independent British Designers -Factory liaison (UK and Indonesia) -Quality control (UK and Indonesia) -Factory visit to factories in Asia -Hosting international clients in the UK -Organising/ curating every aspect of a trade show-Account management -Sales-Customer service-Running a live design project with the University of CASS
IPD Furniture - A UK furniture upholstery manufacturer working with clients including BHS, John Lewis, Oxelys Furniture, Westminster and Andrew Martin.
-Factory management-Production scheduling/management-Purchasing-Transportation-Account management-Quality control-Client liaison/customer service -HR -Worked on company lead briefs designing a full contract/domestic range (10-15 pieces) of furniture
Freelance Furniture Designer Kaydian -The UK’s largest upholstered bedstead suppliers.August 2012 - August 2013
- Worked on design briefs, creating beds/headboards for children, young adults and adults in both single and double bed format as well as Bedside tables. - I deas produced in digital format using Rhino and rendered using Keyshot. - 2 designs now in production and are sold in shops such as Dreams, Bensons and Furniture Village.
Freelance Furniture Designer Azure - The contemporary contract furniture wing of Pineapple Contracts April 2012 - May 2012
-Working to a set contract brief-Idea generation culminating in 4 prototype ideas covering a range of different detailing elements -The final presentation was achieved using Rhino and rendered using Keyshot-All fixtures and fittings sourced through negotiations with suppliers both in the UK and China

IdeationDeeply curved back, with integral wings which are a smooth continuation of the curved back
The back of the chair should be upholstered vir-tually to the floor, but the upholstery at the front of the chair should finish higher.
When viewed from the side, the bottom line of the upholstered arms should slope down from the high front where the metal front legs are, to the low back upholstery line.
Arms should be slim, and upholstered with prominent stitch lines instead of piping.
The chair should have stunning styling, to make it stand out from the crowd!
