Organised by the Ministry of Health, Uganda and the “Supporting Policy Engagement for Evidence-based Decisions for Universal Health Coverage in Uganda” – SPEED Project.
1. How can the UHC and health improvement agenda be mainstreamed across government ministries, departments and agencies?
2. How can multisectoral efforts be nurtured for UHC and what mechanisms are available to ensure coordination and coherence in action for UHC across sectors of government and society?
3. How are the partnerships for health systems strengthening advancing UHC goals?
4. How can community partnerships be leveraged to promote good health?
5. How are global and regional partnerships influencing progress towards UHC at transnational, national and subnational levels?
6. What is the role of research and monitoring systems in advancing collaborative UHC efforts? How is evidence harnessed to support decision making for UHC?

This conference will be attended by researchers, implementers, policy makers, academicians and experts from the health sector and other sectors of development can contribute to health improvements. Participants are expected from Uganda, the East African region and beyond. Keynote speakers will come from: The Multilateral and bilateral agencies (e.g World Bank, WHO), Academic institutions (e.g Institute of Tropical Medicine (Antwerp, Belgium), Human Sciences Research Council (South Africa), University of Cape Town, Makerere University School of Public Health), Government Ministries, departments and agencies ( Ministry of Health and other line ministries), Parliament of Uganda, Private sector among others

GUIDING QUESTIONS
SUB-THEMES
There will also be a photovoice and video competition. Interested contenders can submit photos and videos that portray partnerships efforts for Universal Health Coverage and health improvements. Photos and videos submitted should be related to the theme or any of the sub-themes of the symposium.
