Together We Can Make A DifferenceThe Fund for Wales makes a difference now and in the future by encouraging giving in order to fund community projects across Wales. It is a unique, national endowment Fund which awards grants to community groups whose valuable work often falls under the radar of donors and funders.

Connecting people who care with causes that matter, the Fund is building a vibrant community of donors whose gifts - of all sizes and from all over the World - nurture Welsh culture, heritage and environment, and improve the lives of people across Wales. HRH The Prince of Wales is the Patron.

A campaign of the Community Foundation in Wales, the Fund for Wales inspires people who love Wales to give effectively to Wales. Your charitable gift, big or small, goes to the causes you care about.

The Fund for Wales is for you if...

• you want to give something back to Wales

• your club, society or group wants to fundraise for a unique national campaign

• you want to see your charitable giving supporting grass-roots community projects across Wales

• you want to make a gift which keeps on giving

• you love Wales!

The Fund for Wales makes a difference by...

• Enabling young people and promoting education, enterprise & life-long learning

• Building cohesion and confidence in communities

• Improving physical and mental health

• Nurturing heritage and culture • Protecting our environment

...Through awarding grants to volunteer-led projects

Nurturing ambition, talent and resilience in young people is central to the work of Merthyr Youth

This inspirational club works hard to counter negative images and expectations and has over 120 members between the ages of 9 and 22.

Drama productions, musical theatre, organised events, and visiting new places are all activities which give members more chances to learn and share.

Their Fund for Wales grant paid for two activities designed to inspire and

enrich youth club members: a team-building weekend on the Gower (which included a now-legendary game of cricket on the beach!) and a drama focused trip to London.

Many young people and their families simply cannot afford to travel outside their neighbourhoods or benefit from new challenges, which are such important parts of their learning and development.

If you’re passionate about Wales and want to help make a deep and lasting impact in our communities, make a difference today

“Merthyr Youth has really opened up new opportunities for me. I love the drama workshops and now I want to go to college.”

“As an American with Welsh roots, I came across the Fund for Wales while attending a Welsh course on vacation in North Wales. My grandfather worked in the slate mines of Llanberis and I’m proud to make a gift to the Fund for Wales in honour of my Welsh heritage.”Karen Burdette
