The tasting room has access onto both an olive grove as well as a deck overlooking renosterveld vegetation and Table Bay, offers an informal welcoming drink area as well as a cozy lounge area with a fireplace.

TERMS AND CONDITIONSThank you for considering Durbanville Hills for your occasion.

The standard terms and conditions applicable to all functions held at our winery are outlined below and conditions are negotiable on an individual basis.

EVENING FUNCTIONS

Staffing ratesService fees of 15% of the total bill is charged for functions of more than 15 guests. Smaller functions, staffing will be charged accordingly.

Cut off time for all functions at Durbanville Hills is 00:00.

CONFIRMATION OF RESERVATION AND PAYMENTS PRIOR TO FUNCTION

The following is required to confirm your reservationThe booking form is to be signed and returned by fax, email or in person to the Banqueting Department at Durbanville Hills, which acts as confirmation.

A non-refundable full venue fee is due on confirmation of the occasion. The full balance due with estimate staff & beverage amounts is to reflect in our account no later than 7 days prior to your event. In event of a balance due by yourself to us, this will be settled on the day/night of your event.

Clients instructions regarding the order of events, a time schedule, bar requirements, table layout, etc, must be received no later than 14 days prior to the event. The seating plan, printed menus and guest list are the responsibility of the client.

CONFIRMATION OF NUMBERSDurbanville Hills must be notified of the final number of guests attending no less than 7 days prior to the function. No changes to this number will be allowed after this date.

The final costs are calculated in accordance with the final number as notified and not the number of persons actually attending.

BEVERAGESUnder no circumstances will guests be allowed to bring in or consume their own liquor or food on the premises.

A list of beverages offered at the venue is available on request. Beverages will be charged on consumption on the day or evening of the function. Due to fluctuating liquor prices, the prices quoted are subject to change.

SMOKINGAs stipulated by law, smoking is not permitted anywhere within the cellar building. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that guests comply with smoking laws and Durbanville Hills Wines reserves the right to take legal action against transgressors.

QUOTES AND INVOICESAll quotes are valid for 2 months from the date thereof. If a function is booked more than 2 months in advance, menu prices are subject to change (due to volatile food prices, final menu costs can only be confirmed 2 months before a function).

All prices are inclusive of 14% VAT. Any increase in VAT or any other statutory changes which should be levied will be for the client’s account.

The person who signs surety in the form of a confirmation, will be held responsible for settlement of all invoices and service charges.

The final invoice, which includes the beverage and staff bill, will be issued immediately after conclusion of the event, and must be settled by the client prior to departure.

Queries relating to one invoice will not be sufficient cause to withhold payment on any other invoice/s.

GENERAL CONDITIONSThe reservation will only be confirmed upon payment of deposits and venue fees.

The client is responsible for any damages to or theft of any property of Durbanville Hills Wines (including all linen).

Such damages or theft will be charged to the client at full replacement cost.No staging or furniture may be brought into the venue.

Should the buildings or surrounding gardens of Durbanville Hills Wines be damaged during the set-up, duration or dismantling of the function, the client will be held responsible and will be charged for any necessary repairs, including labour costs. (Damage includes but is not restricted to the following: damage through the placement of adhesive tape on any surface including floors and damage to walls and paint finishes.)

Whilst every effort will be made to safeguard the client’s property, Durbanville Hills Wines will not be liable for any loss or damages whatsoever to such property (décor props, gifts, etc.)

Durbanville Hills Wines, its employees or any person employed at the function, will not be liable for any loss or injury to persons, through negligence or any other cause whatsoever.

Please note that candles (should be in holders), pebbles or any other décor material that can scratch or damage the wooden tables in the restaurant, are not allowed. No petals, rice or confetti may be scattered on the premises.

Our kitchen is not Halaal or Kosher, but Halaal or Kosher meals may be ordered in by the client on request, at an additional fee of R125 per person to the menu price quoted.

All décor items must be removed directly after the function. Durbanville Hills is not responsible for any décor/personal items not removed from the premises after your function, in event of you arranging your own set up. Items are left at own risk.
