November is National Turkey Month
Turkey is a great alternative to fattier meats like beef and pork. It is a meat so it is a good source of protein. Protein is what your body needs to help your muscles grow and get strong. You can have turkey cooked many different ways: baked, grilled, broiled, ground and made into sausage or burgers. The possibilities are endless! So what do you do with that leftover Thanksgiving Turkey? Turkey sandwiches are always an option and I’m sure your mom has plenty of casserole recipes. How many different ways can you think of to use the leftover turkey?
Leadership Quote of the Month:
"If your actions inspire oth-
ers to dream more, learn
more, do more and become
more,
you are a leader."
If you can’t face another turkey sandwich, toss the remaining turkey into this tasty quesadilla! ALWAYS REMEMBER TO WASH HANDS BEFORE HANDLING FOOD!
DIRECTIONS: 1. Spray skillet with cooking spray.
2. Turn burner on med/high
3. Place one flour tortilla in pan. Arrange cheese, meat and sprinkle spices then top with remaining tortilla.
4. Heat about 1 minute then flip and heat until cheese melts.
TURKEY QUESADILLAS 2 flour tortillas ¼ cup shredded cheese Left-over turkey ¼ teaspoon garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon chili powder Cooking spray
TURKEY Humor:
What happened when the turkey got into a fight? He got the STUFFING knocked out of him!
Why was the turkey the drummer in the band? Because he had the DRUMSTICKS!
