ACTIVITY DESCRIPTIONS

ALL EVENTS ARE FOR GUESTS AND THEIR VISITORS ONLY. TIMES SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Ceramics - Projects available for young and old alike. Some can be completed in just one night. Purchase a piece and then paint it. Instruction and detail paints are free.

Hayrides - For young and old alike, our hayrides start at 11 AM on scheduled Saturdays. They are free and begin at the hayride barn located on the playground. Weather permitting of course.

Glow Hayrides - For young and old alike, our glow rides start at 8:30PM on scheduled Saturdays. They are free and begin at the hayride barn as well. Also Weather permitting.

Animal Petting - From the time they are born, you will get chance to meet the baby animals from our farm. On scheduled Saturdays from 11-11 :30 AM, we will bring them out of their pens to the lawn by the playground, where everyone can pet, feed, hold and love them.

Bounce House Races - Come join the fun or watch as kids of all ages race through our bouncy house obstacle coarse arena .

Golf Cart Parade - Decorate your golf cart, (be creative) and meet by the basketball court for the grand event. Spectators can set up chairs along North or South Drive and watch the paraders pass by.

T-Shirt Tie Dying - Bring a white T-Shirt or we will have them on hand to purchase. We will learn how the hippies made their fashion statement.

Christmas in July - All the thrills of Christmas with Christmas songs, a decorated tree, Santa & presents. Those giving a gift, label your wrapped gifts Boy, Girl, Adult or Infant, based on who is giving it, and bring them to the office before 2PM (Please keep gifts in the $5.00 range.) All the children will receive candy.

Craft Fair - Reserve a free table if you wish to sell your handcrafted and homemade items, or come and view the wide array of talent reflected in the many items that will be displayed for sale.

Water Gun Fight - Bring your best water gun for a fight on the playground. This is a fun activity for all ages.

Water Wars - Water wars between Firetruck and the tractor and wagon as they battle each other around the campground.

Chili Cook Off - Either bring a pot of your best chili recipe and compete with your fellow campers to be the chili champion, or simply come and sample the culinary capabilties of your friends. Entries must be homemade.

Tricky Tray - This is our huge annual even that is always a great fundraiser for The American Cancer Society. We are always looking for people or businesses to donate trays. Please contact the campground office if you know anyone who might be willing to contribute.

Pot Luck - (Thanksgiving) - We will celebrate Thanksgiving a little early at Pleasant Acres. Bring your favorite dish up to the Pavillion at 2PM and participate in the feast.

Sweet Corn Festival - Delicious farm fresh sweet corn, cooked outdoors, dipped in butter and salted to your liking. Free and all you can eat. Plenty for everyone. Bring your own plate or corn spears.

Rated "R", Amarillo, Side F/X - Come and enjoy some of the finest Country, Rock & Oldies Bands from around the Tri-State area. Dance to the latest hits or just sit and enjoy the music.

Line Dance Lessons - Instructors from Monteray Entertainment will be here to teach us all of the latest steps.

Supersonic DJ's -Tommy Allen and his professional DJ's and Karaoke Night. Come sing your favorite tunes for everyone and cheer your friends on.

Amateur Night (Talent Show) - Any or all of Pleasant Acres campers may participate. Contestants will be judged and ribbons awarded in several categories. Please register during the day if you wish to participate. Contest will be followed by our End of Summer Dance featuring Supersonic DJ's

Pumpkin Carving! IN SEPTEMBER - Pumpkins will be provided with carving tools. Bring your imagination!

HALLOWEEN IN OCTOBER - Boo! It's Halloween with a costume contest, and candy. Contestants will be judged for cutest, scariest and most creative costumes. Ribbons will be awarded to the winners. Please register at the judges table. No trick or treating on the campground.

Evening Swim - Pool hours will be extended on Mondays until 10:30PM for the special thrill of night swimming & the pool will be illuminated.

Community Campfire - Come join us on the playground for our community campfire. Make Smores, Jiffy Pop or just sit around and tell stories.
