Fume Suppressant STI (ACID INHIBITOR CUM ANTIVAPOUR)

Fume Suppressant STI has been developed for pickling ferrous metal (Cast iron, carbon, alloy steel, stainless steel etc.) in hydrochloric acid solution or other mineral acid combinations at any concentration and any temperature dictated by technical conditions in the plant. It restricts / reduces the fumes emitted out hydrochloric acid tanks.

This inhibitor is having efficiency over 92% in inhibiting the attack of acid on virgin metal. The metal loss without the inhibitor in 20 minutes of pickling is 0.25% compared to 0.020% with our Fume Suppressant STI.

The following advantages of product can be noted:

1. It saves steel from 'Hydrogen embrittlement' and pitting.

2. It improves working condition in the pickling plant by preventing the acid fumes from escaping to the atmosphere.

3. It reduces the amount of acid spent by 'Surface activity'.

4. It provides smooth and uniform pickled surface.

5. Even if the metal is kept in acid for a longer period, it does not get attacked by the acid.

USE:

The quantity of Fume Suppressant STI to be used in the pickling bath is 0.3% to 0.50% of the volume of acid tank.

WASTE DISPOSAL:

Since, it is added to the pickling acid no separate treatment is required.

It will get neutralized with the base used for neutralizing the acid.

SHELF LIFE: 2 Years.
