How to Find Us

On 1 August 2017 Uxbridge College and Harrow College merged to become HCUC. The colleges are now officially part of the same organisation and will work together to provide the best opportunities for our students. Although we are part of the same organisation the colleges will keep their individual names, so we will still be known as Harrow College and our students will study on one of our four campuses.

National statistics confirmed we are one of the highest achieving colleges in London and our 2016/17 year results for 16-18 year olds are 3% higher than the previous year. Ofsted reported, at the last inspection (2015), that ‘…in many lessons, teachers place a high focus on learners developing good professional standards’ and, importantly, that ‘specialist support for learners who require extra help with their studies is good and enables them to make good progress in their learning.’

Moreover, it is great to see our students’ continued high progression rate to university courses, with Ofsted commenting, ‘a high proportion of learners who apply to higher education are successful, with an increasing number securing places at prestigious universities.’

So much of our success is down to our exceptional staff who help Harrow College students achieve their full potential. Ofsted stated, ‘staff create an inclusive and harmonious environment where learners from very diverse backgrounds mix and work together very well.’

I’ve really enjoyed my course and I’m really pleased with my result. Studying an HE course meant that I could stay local for the first two years of my degree. I am now at Coventry University on the final year of an Accounting and Finance degree.

Each student has a personal tutor who monitors their attendance, provides pastoral care and advises them on the next steps for their progression. Lecturers work with students to ensure that they achieve their full potential and regularly review their progress against target grades with action plans agreed where needed.

Students regularly interact with employers in work-related activities and work experience and get feedback to improve their employability skills, and the attributes sought by employers and universities.

Student safety and welfare is important to us. We have a Safeguarding Team across college and we follow the government’s Prevent guidelines. We also have a team to help students with any financial or personal issues they may have.

We work in partnership with parents in order to achieve successful outcomes for our students. Personal tutors are the point of contact for any queries and parents are invited to contact the College with any enquiries or to discuss any concerns.

Studying at college can be seen as a stepping stone between school and university or employment; to this end, students are expected to behave maturely.

However, if we have any concerns about behaviour, effort, work ethic, productivity, attendance or punctuality, these areas are followed up with parents if students are under 18.
